Instead I sat there on that bench, sticky-fingered and full of fried dough I hadn't even wanted, and let myself have exactly one unguarded minute of wanting this, all of it, more than I had any right to. The bench moment gave way soon enough. Adonis was tugging at both our hands before I'd even finished blinking the sentimentality out of my eyes, dragging us past a photo booth and a churro cart, chattering about which ride he wanted next like he was working through a checklist only he could see. The trouble started at the second biggest ride in the park, a monster of a coaster that towered over half the skyline. "No," I said, the second Adonis pointed at it.

He then leaned in to whisper something to the teenage ride operator. Ruby seated her four foot tall teddy in the seat next to her as roth slid in beside her. Once they were secured, the ride jerked upward with a squeal. If Ruby hadn't grown up around old crankily rides she may have been concerned about the maintenance of this particular one.

Then during the Griffin's galleon activity, Maxwell had a stoic expression on his face while the ladies kept squealing as usual while riding the waves back and forth. The activity that Maxwell showed a remote interest in was the Zufari: Ride into Africa one. Since childhood, he has always liked anything pertaining to wildlife and seeing them live walking freely in their natural habitat was quite captivating to the wildlife lover. As for the ladies, the craziest thing they did was the Croc Drop, which had them screaming at the top of their lungs as it involved plunging down about twenty-five feet down the giant jaws of Sobek the ancient Egyptian crocodile god. Then the final one, which had Ma
