Esmerelda Sleuth: Beyond the Portal (Book 3)

Esmerelda Sleuth: Beyond the Portal (Book 3)

When she still didn’t move, I urged, “You need to go now. I can’t hold this open forever. It takes magic.” The final word in my last sentence was still coming out of my mouth when she disappeared through the portal. I wasted no time following her. The many assignments that I’d performed for Marduke had made me a strong traveler. I needed no recovery time at all. Since he was not himself, Lance was still resting his body when I came through. Nora, as expected, was kneeling on the ground while her stomach purged its meager contents.

“unlucky contestants…shelf two, book thirteen.” It sounded oddly like a personal note. My curiosity won out and I skimmed my fingers along the spines of the books until I chose one at random. I pulled out a medium-sized book, a deep shade of navy blue. Earthen twine was wrapped around the book, and there was a picture on the front. A middle-aged man with chocolate hair and dark eyes smiled up at me. The cover of the book read, “Arthur Zimmerman, Game 71.

Amy
Such a well written book and the story really drags you in, I’ve enjoyed reading this so much and hope a sequel comes out. I really feel this book should be printed, I’d read it over and over again. The book is long but it’s well worth it.
Therese Dahlqvist
The author has a fantastic ability to keep me on the edge of my seat and a great ability to describe the scenery around the characters. I find the characters to be mostly well defined and consistent throughout the book. There are some typos and incorrect grammar, but not enough to disturb me complet

Lost to Fire: Book Two

Lost to Fire: Book Two

He has to get to his child. We can push the door open far enough for me to slip into the opening. It is handy to be small sometimes. I enter the room, seeing the cause of the obstruction is a bookshelf. It must have tipped and lodged itself against the door during the earthquake. I tip the bookshelf back against the wall, letting Brixtius have access to the room. A room with furniture strewn all over the place. "Eurydice!" I yell out, hearing her cries from under a fallen dresser. Brixtius moves with speed and lifts the wooden furniture like it weighs nothing.

“Well… they’re over a year old and already better at balance than me. Great. Just what I needed. Tiny little versions of my family to judge me while I train another person.” Jax chuckled, nudging Serenya. “Ignore them for now. They’re harmless… mostly.” Serenya took a deep breath, feeling the twin presence as both a distraction and a strange comfort. If Liora and Kael could already walk—no, run—with such confidence, maybe she could rise to the occasion too. Tora clapped her hands. “All right, next drill. Endurance sprint with a twist. You have to leap over each cushion, but if you fall, you start over. Liora, Kael—you’re helping by being moving targets. Don’t get in trouble.”

The Glass Signal

The Glass Signal

She looked at Reese, fear sharp in her chest. “North,” she said. “We run.” Reese cursed, but he trusted her. He always did. They broke cover together, sprinting down a side corridor as bullets tore through the walls. The cube glowed like a beacon in Mara’s hands, pulling them deeper into the labyrinth. Behind them, the Consortium’s shouts echoed. And somewhere farther still, quieter but sharper, Mara swore she heard the woman’s voice again. “You can’t outrun the fractures, little mirror. Not from me.”

Catching the Moon (Chasing the Moon Book 2)

Chase voiced. “So they couldn’t have made it far. Let’s go.” Quinn told them. The three of them took off out of the room and to the door that led to the basement. They went down the stairs at full speed. “Double check the rooms just in case ..” Quinn told them. But there wasn’t anywhere to hide down there. “There!” Elias yelled pointing outside. And he could see it, there in the fresh snow, footprints leading into the woods. “Let’s go!” Quinn said as they took off. They weren’t making noise … running in the snow, turns out, is pretty quiet. But they also weren’t trying to be as hushed as they were in the house either.
