Stepping out from behind a cluster of trees, there he was—Thomas.
Despite looking sweaty, pale, and dirty, he seemed intact. His blue eyes barely glanced at me. He could only stare at his greatest rival, his worst enemy, the one he had vowed to destroy and would die trying.
For a few moments, all that could be heard was the distant sound of the bloody battle. Thomas had a weapon pointed at Masato’s chest, and Masato, unmoving like me, still held my hand.
As he stepped fully into the moonlight, Thomas spoke in a low voice.
