Well I supposed we had Susie, I hoped she was way better than any stupid human weapon. Once everything calmed down and everyone got into the movie I was laid out with Renata half in my lap and one of the human girls in the other. I mindlessly ran my fingers through her hair. The other human girl was in Renata’s lap. I had a sudden realization that the movie would be over in about fifteen minutes. Nobody was anywhere close to sleeping, what would we do then? “Luna Missy,” I heard, breaking me out of my thoughts. I abruptly craned my neck around, recognizing the voice. It was the Shadow Warrior, Tyson.

just a dream. I clench my eyes closed once again despite the pain, as the shadow starts to talk once more. Wake the hell up... wake the hell up... wake up... I open my eyes to find the shadow’s still beside me. I look across the room; a slightly smaller shadow emerges from the darkness and moves forwards to join the first shadow. They are close in size, both just standing looking over me. Just a dream... wake up, please... wake the hell up... Cora, help me... Cora, please... Cora, get me out of here... where is Cora?

“Don’t worry. Just the hangover is worse, but it won’t hurt him. A little like bee stung, maybe.” We marched towards the woods, but all I could hear was Everlee’s fast heartbeat. “Everlee, relax. Your heartbeat is obstructing my hearing,” Shadow said. “It would be hard to find him if you’re distressed.” “I’m sorry. I’m just worried about him.” “We all are.” Shadow took a deep breath. “Let me do my mojo.” It made me chuckle. “Go ahead, infant witch. Do your thing.” “Shut up, macho man.” She took a deep breath and shut her eyes. “Wow. I don’t hear anything other than insects and wind. I think your brother is a pathfinder.”

After the Shadow man's disappearance, I snuggled back in the warm bed. My mind swirled with the madness. Was I crazy? Was this real? The thoughts tangled as they morphed into even crazier dreams until the morning sunlight was streaming through my window through my ratty pink curtains. I blinked against the light realizing I was in my own bed.

I gently woke her from her slumber. "Oh, I'm so tired," she slowly opened her eyes and murmured, "I've been so worried about you. What happened to you?" "I'm sorry to have worried you. I got lost in the forest and was attacked by stray werewolves." I told her this well-intentioned lie.

The shadow recoiled, covering its eyes from the light. I took advantage of the distraction to move forward, my feet carrying me towards the shadow with a determination I didn't know I possessed. As I approached, the shadow began to take shape, forming into something that was identical to me in every way. It was like looking into a mirror, except this mirror reflected the darkest parts of my own soul. "You are me," I said, my voice firm. "And I will not let you consume me." The shadow smiled, its eyes glinting with malevolence. "We are one," it said. "And you cannot defeat me."

I was convinced I wasn't imagining it. During class I made a huge effort not to fall asleep, I couldn't concentrate and I yawned all the time, my dark circles under my eyes were so noticeable that Mindy kept looking at me. -¿Will you tell me what happened last night? -You were there, ¿weren't you? -Yes, but I didn't see anything, what were you dreaming, ¿that's why you were screaming so much? -The same thing I already told you, the shadow was chasing me and I couldn't escape from it.
