Alex said to Mel "Yeah, It's just a bug infection. I will make sure I visit my doctor on Monday." Melinda said. "Make sure you do, my love. I don't like the idea of you being sick. If you want I can come with you." He offered. "You worry too much, Alex. I'm sure it's nothing. I will be fine." Mel said with a smile. "Okay then. How about you go take a shower while I start making dinner for us." Alex suggested.

Even Izzy, who is the most talkative, didn't even dare to talk. " I asked you guys here to bid my goodbyes and to see you one last time", Melo broke the silence. Izzy started to cry. I raised my eyebrow at them. " What's happening here ? Enlighten us please", I said and look at Shirly for some answers but she shrugged her shoulders. "Melo is sick. Leukemia. Stage three", Izzy informed us sobbing. It takes a minute for me to diggest what she just said.

Brenda narrated. Melanie looked away running her hand across her forehead "why don't I remember him?" Brenda looked up at her "Daddy said you always forget things because you are sick." Her eyes grew wide "sick?" Brenda nodded. "Daddy said you had an accident which affected your brain and since then you have been sick" Brenda said again standing up to ride her mini bicycle. Melanie looked confused as she struggled to believe what her daughter just said to her then a knock came at the door.

“I don’t know. The doctors don’t know either. I think I heard a nurse say something about… um… Alpha blood or something.” Melissa suddenly choked, coughing hard. “Hey—careful. I’ll get you water.” He quickly grabbed the water, snapped it open, and helped her drink. “I’m fine,” Melissa said after a sip. “You sure?” “Y—yes.” She answered too fast, trying not to stutter. Her heart raced violently in her chest. “I did some research,” Knox continued, unaware of what his words were doing to her. “It’s rare for a sickness to just disappear like that. Were you by chance married to an Al—”

She had clearly promised to give him an answer, and he knew she wasn't the type to forget about it easily. Unpleasant rumours started to spread about Lady Melissa after that. Some said she was disfigured and became so ugly that she didn't dare to show herself in public. Some said she was embarrassed as she had no friends so staying home was the best option. Some even went as far as saying she had contracted an incurable disease and was dying. These rumours died down eventually especially due to Lord Melvin's intervention.

Atlas instructed Cane. "Understood, I've already arranged it." "Inform the police," Atlas added. Cane quickly walked away. Shortly after, several police officers arrived. Atlas briefed them on the situation. The surgery only ended at ten o'clock. The doctors explained the situation to the police. Melanie had survived, but the outlook was not good. She had two broken ribs, a punctured lung, a ruptured spleen, and a mild concussion. Atlas talked to the leading officer and wanted to take us away, but I insisted on seeing Melanie.

I said turning to the Doctor who had mixed expressions on her face, she was definitely relieved to see me awake. "She didn't, She lied that you just slept off… Such a bitch!" Melanie cussed as I nudged her and playfully glared at her. "I was scared of going to jail ma'am, please lie down so that I can check your temperature" "There is no high temperature, my bestie is fine now just go!" Melanie yelled making the doctor cringe as she left in embarrassment.
