Jamal’s POV The moment my foot touched the path of light, the ground beneath me collapsed. I fell. Not through air. Through memory. Through every shadow I ever pushed away. A rush of cold pulled at my chest. My pulse hammered loud enough to echo around me, like the sound was trying to escape my ribs. “Melissa,” I whispered, even though I knew she could not hear me. “Stay strong. I am coming.” The fall slowed. The darkness steadied. My feet touched solid ground.

“I’m sorry.” Downstairs, Melody sat at the dining table. Tears continuously stream down her face, "Why the tears, Mel?" Mateo’s demonic voice echoed in the darkroom as Melody's breath hitched before she forcefully swallowed, "I'm so used to seeing positive Melody, the woman who wants everyone to be happy, especially when some of us need nothing more than misery and pain," he said as his shadow drew closer and closer causing goosebumps to raise on her arms as she slightly shook.

The sun burned the memory away, scrubbing her clean of the small, messy attachments of biology. I am... She faltered. I am the Gravity. I am the Glue. I am... The silence of space rushed in. It was cold. It was peaceful. It promised an end to the noise. If she just let go, if she just stopped fighting the expansion, she could sleep. She could be the rock. She could be the light. Alex said through gritted teeth. Ethan jerked his hand free from Alex's grip. "Don't play games you can't win." He warned, turning to leave. But Alex's anger flared, and he lunged to grab Ethan's arm. In his haste, his feet tangled, and he stumbled. Ethan spun around just in time to see Alex's face contort in a mixture of rage and surprise. Then Alex crashed into him, sending them both tumbling to the floor. Ethan's back hit the ground, and Alex landed on top of him. Their eyes met, and for a moment, they just stared at each other, the world around them melting away

“Thank you.” Melody’s eyes soften for a heartbeat. Then she reaches into her pocket and produces a tiny vial, clear liquid, no smell. “Two drops under your tongue before you go in. It’ll take the edge off the sensory overload without muting you.” I eye it suspiciously. “If this burns, I’m haunting you.” Melody’s mouth quirks. “Fair.” Tessa bounces in place. “It’s gorgeous, Abby. Oh my goddess, you’re going to look, like, like.”

The amount mixed wasn't enough to affect much but with a first timer or somebody who has zero tolerance can get affected. Roy cursed under his breath and raised his head to look around―in hopes of catching his friends or Sasha but unfortunately he saw nobody nearby. The music was loud and Roy didn't waste time uselessly shouting. Finally deciding to do things that will help, Roy strayed away from the dancing couples and took Jeremy out of the gym―in the campus pathway to get some fresh air. Jeremy shook his head a few more times and tried to grasp the situation and surroundings but nothing helped. His senses were way too dulled to comprehend anything.

“My next class starts in about twenty minutes.” Ivy stared over at Valerie, her lips pressed into a thin line as she watched the others in front of her. Valerie wondered if the woman knew Scott was married when she practically arranged for the two of them to hook up last Friday. Nothing would surprise her anymore. The levels of depravity among the people she knew had no limits it seemed. Was there anyone who remained faithful these days, or was it all one giant fuckfest? “All right, sweetie,” Melody said. “I’ll walk you back to class and then go pick up Scott Junior from daycare.” She reached out to take Scott’s hand, smiling over at him.

Celestia said as she softly caressed her daughter’s face. “Mother, I don’t under—” “Till we meet again, my child.” Amira heard her mother whispered before she felt herself falling on the Pond of Living. Morgan jolted out of his bed after he felt a pain in his arm and rear the moment Amira was abruptly stopped. He worriedly ran over his window and his eyes glimmered a bit as he saw the moon slowly turning red. He looked down his window when he heard the restless howling of the wolves.

“She and April are both on the rock genre but hers is more angst y, I guess.” Well, I guess I was going through my rebellious phase when I actually heard her music so that’s why I was able to relate. I loved her songs since then. I guess that’s one of music’s wonders. To be ale to make other feel what you’re feelings through words and sounds. “Anyway, it’s not just April they’re going to meet. I don’t know the full line up yet but I’m sure the other artists will all be so good as well.” Mel says.
