I remembered the first day of the apocalypse when cities turned into hell on earth as the streets filled with screams and blood. I remembered the countless deaths I'd seen over the last three years. The elderly, the children, my comrades, and those strangers. I remembered the people who were killed by their loved ones because of infection, and those who turned into zombies in the depths of despair. "I'll do it," I said. Uriah was so ecstatic that he almost jumped out of his chair. Iris merely nodded, as if she had expected my answer all along. In the days that followed, I became the research center's most special "guest".

Someone had even turned Dexter's frosting-covered face into memes. She soon received one from Clara. In the meme, only half of Dexter's handsome face was not covered in frosting. The text beside it read, "Dead inside." For the next three or four days, everyone around Angela couldn't send her a text without adding a few of those memes. Zack was the worst of all. He sent her dozens every day—half of them were ones he had made himself in his office when he had nothing better to do. Wasn't this a little over the top?

Lucas noticed a bunch of zombies the moment he set foot in East City. The zombies frantically rushed to Lucas when they saw a human had shown up. It was as though they had caught a glimpse of the most delicious food the entire world had to offer. "Awoo, awoo!" In the blink of an eye, hundreds of zombies showed up. Lucas released Biggy, Scarlet, and White Doll from System Space. The hundreds of zombies appeared to be as weak as tiny ants before them. The zombies stumbled onto the ground one after another, and Lucas activated his mind's fusion grid and started fusing zombies.

"That was true, until someone forcefully brought them back. Now they're like mindless zombies." "Zombies?" Mira frowned, her head tilting. "Is that some kind of animated pastry? It sounds deliciously terrifying." Mars face palmed, "no. It's a term from my… village. It means mindless, shambling minions who hunger for brains, or in this case, souls." "So this person, and the shifters," Keith interjected, finally speaking. He had been silently fuming, his eyes tracking how close Mira sat to Mars, how her fingers sometimes brushed his shoulder.

Zack Flint answered. Todd didn't want that. "Back to the report, please" Todd heaved a sigh of relief as Karl opened back the notes. "So, what is going to happen to the bitten" Karl sought answers again. "Have you ever watched a zombie movie?" Todd tried explaining in the easiest way he thought Karl would understand. "Are you saying they will become zombies?" Karl asked excitingly. "Yeah, more like that" Todd hoped he had satisfied him. "How are we going to know you are not lying" Karl asked ridiculously. Todd was maddened.

Screams tore through the B2 level. Martha and I bolted for the stairs. Marcus stumbled behind. The smell of blood hit us like a wall. In the makeshift chapel, Sister Catherine was on her knees before the cross. A bloody hole gaped in her neck. A zombie was hunched over her, greedily tearing at her flesh. It had crawled in through an air vent. “Oh God…” Marcus retched. I grabbed a nearby iron chalice and slammed it into the zombie’s head.

Meanwhile, the comments were having the time of their lives. [Yes! This is exactly how they should be tortured!] [Dan got caught stealing dog food yesterday. It had me in stitches.] [But be careful, PC. The comments are saying a zombie wave is coming soon, and Callie seems to be secretly gathering strength. She might try something.] A zombie wave? With that done every other memory, she had soon disappeared including James. Singa was greedy enough to accept the ruse and agreed to do my bidding with a clear warning that if he failed he would pay with his life. I knew about the dangers and risks but if he had failed me or made her into a zombie he was going to die. That motivated him and since all he did was a success he got to pretend to shrink too. Everything they talk about and the questions he asks her is all my idea and as insurance, he comes to my house for their sessions where there is footage of him in case he decides to double-cross me.
