She nodded, her brows furrowed. As I turned to leave, I felt a strange sensation. I looked back to see Skye staring at the painting. Skye had told me that I wasn’t able to tell anyone and I had to keep it hidden. When I was around anyone, she would disappear so others couldn’t sense her. Skyler then whispers so low that if it wasn't for the fact that Xander was sharing with me, I wouldn't have heard her. "No, it can't be..." I follow her line of sight and take a deep breath. MEANWHILE – DEAN’S MANSION | SKYE'S ROOM Skye lay on her bed, her face buried in her pillow as soft sobs escaped her lips. Her friend, Paisley a white-skinned girl, sat beside her, gently rubbing her back in an attempt to soothe her. “Skye, please stop crying already. You’re going to make yourself sick,” Paisley murmured, concerned. “Leave me alone. How could he do that to me?” Skye’s voice trembled between her tears. “He ditched me and didn’t even bother to send a message since last night.”

His eyebrow lifted slightly. “Is it that bad?” “Oh yeah.” She leaned closer, lowering her voice conspiratorially. “Half the wolves here drink themselves stupid, the other half break chairs over each other’s backs and then there’s the third half who flirt aggressively with anyone that breathes.” “That’s three halves.” “Exactly.” She winked. Max found himself smiling again which was something he hadn’t expected tonight. Skye cocked her head, assessing him more curiously now, not suspiciously, just intrigued.
