The ceiling above me blurs and swims, the chandelier in Nora's room splitting into two, then three, then merging back together.
"Mira!" Jackson's face appears above me, his hands on my face. "Mira, look at me. Breathe. Just breathe."
But I can't. My heart is beating too fast, so fast I think it might explode. This is it, I think distantly. This is how I die. Heart attack at forty-four, triggered by finding my daughter fucking her professor in our house.
"Call 911," Jackson orders. "Now!"
"Is she having a heart attack?" That's Tony's voice, and hearing him makes everything worse, makes my chest tighten even more.
