Jax asked when he finally entered the room. We both took turns giving Jax the rundown of our meeting. He like me was just as surprised at the variety of supernatural species that lived within Dublin. Half of them I never even knew were real, like the Merrow. Merrows are what the normies call a mermaid, except in cartoons they depict them as beautiful and innocent little women with a love for collecting shiny things. Well, Ariel aint got shit on a real Merrow, that’s for sure. Merrows are beautiful both in the sea and on dry land but they are also known for being quite vicious when they feel cornered or when someone tries to stake claim to something that is theirs.

“So what about magical creatures are we learning about today?” She grins at me before dropping a heavy book down in front of me, “History of magic creatures!” I put my face in my hands and groan, Drago chuckles from where he’s found a comfortable spot to watch us, a book in his hand. I raise my eyebrow at him, “Harry Potter?” He gives me a sheepish smile, “Don’t spoil it, I’m only on the Prisoner of Askaban.” I laugh and turn back to Serena. “Alright we’re here so let's begin.”

Maggie It was thick darkness. Only the sound of the rustling of leaves and creeping night insects could be heard. She glanced at her wrist watch, it was 9.02pm. But she stood there at the center of the large compound of St Patrick's Catholic church waiting, standing in front of her white Mercedes Benz, waiting for her meeting with the Medusa demon - the Vampire. They were two minutes late to the meeting, one she had arranged risking her very existence. The Vampire had contacted her demanding to know her status with the location of Fisheye. She had told them that she didn't have Fisheye, but she had something better - the flash drive! Hence, she set the meeting point and time.

Jeremiah screamed, he tried to trace down the sorcerer through the window, but it was too dark to see anything. Jeremiah then decided to check Harold’s condition, ‘It was too late, he’s already dead.’ Black smokes were fuming up from the cadaver. ‘Amy could you check the mana in his body…’ Armadale showed up, “of course master,” it said and came closer to Harold’s rigid body. The black smoke was absorbed by it’s mouth, then the book opened by itself. On page three, a new magic diagram was formed and both the shape and name were similar to the one on the second page.

Almost as though the book held secrets that felt almost wrong of me to try to divulge. But I opened it anyway. This wasn't like the other journal. This one had no name. Just endless pages and pages of sketches. The first none was a crown of coral and bone, with blood being tipped over it from a golden goblet. I supposed this particular one was a symbol of his ascension that never got to happen. There was another of a sea serpent being curled around a skull, with a phrase written below it. "He waits in the deep." I murmured. I shook my head and turned to another mage.

Whether he was Morgan or Draco, she didn't want him in her life anymore. Morgan raised his hand to wipe away her tears; he just couldn't keep seeing her crying so hysterically and heartbroken. But when she saw his action, she flinched and backed away from him with her eyes filled with fear. His pupils shrank violently as he stared at her. ‘She was afraid of him. Did she think he would hurt her?’ He thought.

Another said, and they chuckled irritatingly. Serena and I went up the stairs stealthily, and were surprised when we came to a kind of library, with lots of potions, on different shelves. “Lucas.” Serena called my name, moving to one immediately. I followed her, and saw a potion as clear as water. “As visible as air.” I read, and looked at Serena. It was an invisibility potion.“It wasn't a dream. I had really seen a scary creature over me. Thinking back on it, it was a hag. The old baggage used the potion, so we wouldn't see her.” She spat venomously, and we took the potion.

The path toward that dark, apocalyptic future could have been diverted, and they might all be living in a world where such horrors existed only in nightmares. "Ma’am!" The potion girl's shrill pierced her anguished reverie. "I've done it! The spell is complete!" Meredith pushed aside her jumbled emotions and focused her energies on channeling the mystical forces the girl had summoned into her own depleted reserves. She could feel the power, raw and scintillating, flooding her veins...reawakening her abilities. It was like greeting an old friend. The heavy oak door shuddered once more with a thunderous boom that seemed to shake the very foundations of the estate.

The children in the line gasps, and the chest snaps open. In the chest on a velvet pillow lies a sharp sapphire, and the Headmistress announces. "A sapphire. Apt for a telekinetic." The witches gathered burst into a cheer and clap loudly as the little girl grins, clutching the sapphire. "She'll get that in the necklace form before she starts class," Leita states. "Her aspect belongs to the paranormal category like Matron Aldar's does." “This all looks very Harry Potter-esque.” I muse. Ophelia hears this and shoots me a dirty look. “Do not speak the name of that book in my presence, I beg you.”

Another way to appeal to non-magic users to sell and make money. It took a lot longer than I would like to admit, but I can now proudly say that I can tell the difference between most common potions. Knowing that it is a skill that witches need to have in order to progress in their learning, I made sure to take whatever notes I could on each potion I made. A grueling process that has helped me better in another important skill. I’m also able to create the most common potions.
