I suggest, giving my shoulder a slight shrug. Kenji picks up a book and passes it over to Levi to place beside his book on the other table. Levi looks down at it and grimaces before setting it next to the ghost book. My brows rise in curiosity as I walk over to see the book. Forbidden Sex Magic stares back at me in bright red letter, the picture of a naked woman being rammed into by a centaur graces the cover. “Well that is disturbing.” I tell them, placing the book back down and putting the ghost book on top of it to hide the cover. Levi and Kenji let out loud spurts of laughter behind me as they watch my discomfort over the book.

One volume called to her like a whisper against bone: *The Greater Veil: Finer Threads of Dominion* She pulled it free. The book was heavier than the black tome from her father’s library, its cover bound in something that looked like polished shadow-leather, warm to the touch. She opened it carefully. The first pages spoke of layered commands, of weaving intent so precisely that the dead obeyed without resistance, of turning even the strongest-willed undead into extensions of the caster’s will. Raven’s breath caught. She looked up at Victoria. Victoria read the title over her shoulder, then met Raven’s gaze. She squeezed Raven’s hand once—firm, reassuring—and nodded.

I flipped a page. More of the same. I didn’t understand any of it. I was about to close it when something caught my eye. A drawing. Different from the others. It looked like… A creature. My breath caught. It wasn’t like anything I had seen before. It looked human… but not. There were lines coming from its back. Like wings. But not wings. Something sharper. Something… alive. I stared at it longer than I should have. Something about it made my chest feel tight.

"Reading novels seems better!" A profound silence reigned in the downstairs room where Miranda stayed, broken only by the rhythmic cadence of her breathing as she sat on the wide bed, propped up against soft pillows, a famous horror novel open in her hands. The words danced before her eyes under the warm glow of the golden bedside lamp, drawing her deeper and deeper into their dark worlds, until it seemed as if she were slipping into her haunted depths.

The shelves are lined with clams, I guess these are their books. I grabbed one from the shelf and open it up, there are no pages inside. How am I supposed to read these? I look over and see one of the mermaids holding it up to his ear. I put the clam to my ear, suddenly I can hear the words of the book in my mind. This doesn’t sound like the book I needed so I put it back on the shelves and wander the rows of clams looking for something that catches my eye.

She took in a deep breath and shook her head, trying to dispel thoughts about Logan. Somehow, everything reminded her of him.

Holy shit ..' She thought for a while and being amazed she stopped the reading and placed a bookmark in the book . She was in a hurry and headed out of the library taking the book along with her.

Welcome guys, this is another story of mine. So this book is basically a paranormal-ish story. It may contain werewolves, demi-gods, mermaids, titans, fairies, satyr and other supernatural beings as we move on. If you've read my first story, A Beautiful Secret, and have been there through Galaxia and Xavier's bumpy and bittersweet journey, then you'll love this one.
