Doubt filled his eyes as he struggled to comprehend the idea that Millie could possibly be M. After all, he thought she was just a delicate and seemingly incapable woman from the Caldwell family. How could she possibly be involved with the underworld? Millie wrapped his wounds while he kept staring at her. He remained vigilant until Millie guided him toward the M base. “Beta.” Mike’s voice grabbed my attention and I whipped around to face him. He had a new look. His hair was shaved off into a brush cut and he pierced one of his ears and put a gold stud. It seems he had gone for a makeover in the morning that’s why he was an hour late today. Mike was the head warrior, the fifth in rank from Desmond who’s a Delta and also a human. Desmond works on our Mafia business in the human town. “Yes. Where is she?” I asked almost immediately. My stomach was twisting with nerves thinking something happened to her while I was away.
