I didn’t want to tell you anything until I was sure it was going to work. It turns out she’s a lose mouth whenever she was drunk.” Mike abandoned everything he was working on. He had been looking for a way to help those children faster, but he had been busy with other things. “So, what did she spill?”

Lisa spat. Tristan, stiffling a smile, joined in to pile on. “Let’s all give Mike a break, shall we?” Mike looked hopefully at him. “But Mike, she is going through a lot, much more than most people can bear. Can’t you muster a little sympathy for her? I’m sure you wouldn’t want your own daughter to brush with danger as much as she has.” Mike looked utterly dejected. Once the leader of the lynch mob coming for me, he was now the outcast without a heart, bereft of all the support he had gatthered agaisnt me.

Therefore, before meeting Noah, they couldn't cause any trouble here. Otherwise, negative rumors about their family might spread before they could even meet up with him. That would be an unrecoverable loss! As Mike spoke, he secretly observed the people who were with Larissa. He seemed to be just a young man who lacked experience. Young people like him were usually quite sensitive. As long as he humbled himself, the young man would most likely feel too embarrassed to ask him for money and willingly switch rooms with him. However, Mike's little plan appeared to crumble as Larissa didn't take the bait at all.

Steven declared, and I could see the pained expression on Jessica's face. Is there something I'm missing here? "Whatever!" I scoffed at them, rolling my eyes, and they all burst into laughter, including Brandon. They're a bunch of jerks. I turned my head, surveying the surroundings and appreciating the beautiful decorations. Surprisingly, a smile slowly formed at the corner of my mouth. As I admired the scenery, my gaze suddenly landed on Nancy, Fred's younger sister, who was standing in a corner. My frown deepened as I watched her pour some kind of powder, possibly a drug or poison, into a glass of drink.

I feel my hands sweating with nervousness. I can hear the cars stopping in front of the house. Slowly I walk to the wall-size windows, and I peak out. I am curious to see my future dear husband. One thing is for sure. He should sleep with one eye open because I might kill him in his sleep and become a black widow. I have no problem with that. I close my eyes, shaking my head. I think my books have a bad influence on me. This would be a good plot. I make a mental note to write that story. A mafia story. Who knows. It might even be a best-selling story.

It was Mike! "Mike!" I cried out, praying that he would hear my voice. "It's going to be okay. Listen to my voice. You are going to be back with me soon." Mike talked in a calm and soothing voice. "Just follow my voice and everything will be alright." He said, his voice becoming distant. "Mike!" I cried again. "Don't leave me!" I begged in hope he would come back.

Just his luck to pick a pigheaded female to love out of all the women in the world.’ Mike thought in grim humour. Taking a deep breath, he sighed. “Ask your question woman, I deserve peace.” Mike told her grimly. “Glad to know you are going to be a man over this.” Liza could not resist making a poke. “You have just a minute chance, Liza, any other word and the promise to answer your question is cancelled.” Mike threatened and even though Liza was annoyed by this condition, she complied.

"You saved me, and I couldn't save you back." I smiled. "It's not about who saved who. It was meant to happen in Mike's book. He was waiting for me to lower my guard. And he won." Jake's silence scared me. He rested his arms on his legs as he lowered his head to stare down at the ground. Both of us were crying, trying to understand what we had done in life to deserve this fate. Probably nothing. Bad things always happen to good people.

I worked on my English homework when I saw my book be knocked to the floor and I glanced up to see that guy from my last period. “What's up freak?” He said as he sat on the edge of the table. I held my breath as I watched him and debated on what to do. “What do you want?" I asked. “I thought it was only fair to introduce ourselves,” he said and smirked. “Names David and I believe your name is Mike or Miguel?” “Michael.” I correct him. “Heard you made a commotion the other day. Is it true that you like, got sick or something?” he asked me and I knew sooner or later someone would come by to ask me.
