Because my previous injuries from my previous fight hadn't fully healed, I couldn't fight that night, so Mikey suggested that Ripper take my place. Ripper agreed, thinking it was just like any other fight, but Mikey deliberately didn't tell us that there were no rules in this fight, and that his opponent was carrying a hidden weapon. By the time I realized it, it was too late, and when I tried to stop the match, Mikey refused, leaving Ripper with no choice but to fight his armed opponent.

With Bennett Caden joining the fray, there were now four eighth-rank martial artists fighting against the Spirit Turtle─Thomas Caden, Simon Cabral, Winston Blithe, and Bennett himself. Each of them stood at a corner and performed their own signature martial art skill. Four beams of True Energy struck the Spirit Turtle. However, the Spirit Turtle’s shell was impenetrable. The two bloodsuckers Mikali was holding at gunpoint in a dark cavern looked exactly like what Jo had been imagining when she’d picked out two potential snitches in her mind. Both of them were groveling on the ground, sweat pouring from their undead foreheads as they pleaded with the Guardian to let them go. Mikali was glaring at them, standing at his full height, which had to be at least six three since he towered over Jo, alternating the target at the end of his Beretta from one sniveling bastard to the other.

The others nodded in agreement, and I couldn’t help but chuckle along with them. “Also, sorry we haven’t properly introduced ourselves yet, Eli,” Mikey said, his tone shifting to something more genuine. He smiled at me, and for the first time, I felt like I wasn’t just Zack’s little sister tagging along. I waved my hands in front of me, shaking my head. “It’s no big deal,” I said, smiling back at him. “Well, I’m Mikey, and that’s Austin,” he pointed to the guy who had kicked Zack, “and James,” he said, motioning toward the quieter boy standing beside him. James gave me a small nod, not much for words, it seemed.

If the strength of Gemini and Virgo were not much different, then he had no chance of winning. Before he could figure out how to deal with it, Gemini attacked him. Then… Sea Turtle was uninjured! He giggled at Gemini and said cheerfully, “I forgot to tell you. My name is Sea Turtle. I don’t have any other ability. The only ability I have is hard skin! Even a machete can’t cut through my flesh, let alone your bare hands.” This was his ninja skill, his unique ability. The purpose of bringing Sea Turtle was not to kill the opponent but to stall the opponent.

Mikey curses and looks around but I guess the coast is clear because he slips in and closes the door behind him, "I need you to make my face bleed somehow. Punch me hard." "What?" He asks, looking at me like I'm the biggest weirdo. Mikey is the slowest one, but he always does what I ask, "Fine, I guess..." He gets his fist ready and I brace myself, but right before he goes to punch me, he stops and grabs his rifle. "I think this is going to be easier," he says and takes it off the sling. I don't think he wants to shoot me, so I lift an eyebrow as I watch him turn it around to hit me with the back of it, "Bring your face closer."
