It was surrounded by those 'walkers', stumbling around like they were in a trance. "What are they?" He breathed out, staring in disbelief. He chugged some water, letting out a sigh of hydrated relief. "They call them walkers." She pointed the screen down slightly to allow him to see easier and switched to the website she was reading. "There's information on them, finally." As Adam read, she watched his expression change from confused to terrified. "This is like an actual zombie movie." He spluttered, barely able to get his words out. Behind them, a stirring caught their attention.

Pigsy shouted, "Damn, what the hell is this? People who do not look like people, ghosts who do not look like ghosts?" Alex inherited the Ultimate Book of Medicine and was still hunting for all the strange knowledge. But, at a glance, he could see through the nature of these corpse soldiers. "These are zombies and very vicious living corpses. They sacrificed people who were alive. I did not expect that the Miller family, with such an ancient heritage, actually keeps such things at home." Zendaya nodded. "To use living people to refine corpses. There really isn’t any bottom line anymore." However, they heard even more astonished voices, precisely those of the Miller family speaking.

These bodies were dressed in military uniforms from the Aricia Era. They were still holding weapons in their hands. These soldiers appeared to have recently been killed; apparently, they were bitten to death by the zombies. Opposite this zombie stood a ripped and dark-skinned man. The man was holding a butcher knife in his hand. The blade burst with cold light. He appeared to be serious as he stared intently at the zombie standing across from him.

At that moment, the rear window rolled down, and a rough-looking man leaned out. "Kid, what's the story?" Milo asked. Jim took one look at Milo and instinctively assumed he was the leader. "We just escaped from the mountains. There's a military camp in there. Everyone inside turned into zombies, and they're all mutated. Each one's strength and speed are three to four times those of normal zombies. Our base was inside the mountains. It got swallowed up. We were the only ones who made it out." Milo's expression tightened. "Roughly how many zombies are we talking about?"

The next morning, the guards and chef were already awake before I was. I had barely finished washing up when I saw them standing in the main hall waiting for me. Judging from the looks on their faces, they had already seen what was happening outside. I turned toward the street beyond the one-way glass just in time to see a swarm of grotesque zombies roaming the roads. Some still vaguely resembled humans, but most were drenched in blood, their faces twisted into horrifying shapes. A few were so badly mutilated that their organs spilled out as they ran.

I survived the most dangerous and chaotic first three months of the zombie virus outbreak. One morning, the roar of helicopter blades came through the bunker's external microphones, followed by a military loudspeaker broadcast. "Attention all survivors. This is the Southwest Rescue Command rescue team. We have established a safe base. Survivors who hear this broadcast, proceed to the designated assembly point..." I stood up, took off my comfortable loungewear, changed into a black tactical gear and put on a stab-resistant vest. I slid two combat knives into my tactical boots and slung a cocked compound crossbow over my back.
