I didn’t want to have to change anything when everything was done. ‘No. I have to complete a drawing today” Just like I had been going to the gallery, I had also been painting like crazy and now I had over thirty completed artwork ready to be hung. “I have not yet seen a single one of your drawings and we live together. When are you going to show them to me?” just like I promised myself, I had not shown a single soul one thing I had drawn. “You’ll see them on the opening day. You’ll be pleasantly surprised” I had a mini collection called Mine and it was just six drawings of him from different angles.

The weight of his words hung in the air, like a challenge to the unknown. There were quite a few drawings that attracted Melanie’s attention, and they were all of the same man; the man in the drawings had short hair, was slightly skinny, and had a strong and defined face. He drew nine figures first. The same nine. All of them. Then he drew a tenth. Small. In the space below the seventh. He gave it curly hair because Ada's curls deserved to be there from the beginning. He looked at the name in the seventh figure's space.

While David was distracted with the other minions, Dorime began to splash ink in the wall using the onyx. He shaped it using his little hands and used his flying golem for the unreachable places. He painted a humanoid striking a T-pose in the center of the wall, with lines near its body, as if they represented that it was glowing. Near, he made the crude shapes of various of his new and older brothers: Skeletor was a small horned humanoid, lumps represented the rats and squirrels, some tunneling worms, vultures, beetles, and even some ants.

‘I guess even they noticed the height difference between Dante and me,’ I gave a quiet chuckle. “And this is us and Yuki, and we’re all holding hands.” Three little stick figures, blue, purple, and green, were next to the pink one, along with a weird-looking yellow thing that I guess was Yuki. “It’s beautiful, Nathan. Good job.” I cheered, and he beamed with pride. “Mine next.” Michael shoved his drawing into my hand, and I took his and Leon’s. They were similar to Nathan’s work, but Michael’s was more wonky, and the height difference was less dramatic. Leon’s drawing was the neatest, with a big red heart around us.

Then he picks up the drawing book from the chair and he opens it to a fresh page and he begins to draw, right there in the treatment room, with the focused economy of someone who has something to get down before the image leaves. I look over his shoulder. He is drawing three figures: a small one, a tall one, and a third one whose silver hair he renders in careful crosshatched lines, standing in the western quarter with the tree and the lifted pavement stone visible at the edge of the frame.

I always lock it before leaving the premises. “But I… Did I…” Brushing it off, I pull the mini door open, and yelp when a heap of papers rains on me as if waiting for me to open it all along. I stay still for a moment, just blinking at the drawings. They’re ugly exaggerated images of me; big head, messy hair, thin legs… I’m as tiny as a doll, while a big guy towers over me, his pants down, and I’m choking on his… What?! My heart drops.
