Corin The journey to the mines passed in tense silence. The sound of the horses’ hooves on the frozen ground was the only rhythm that broke the quiet of the forest. Mason rode in front, his shoulders tight, his eyes scanning the trees as if Glacier’s killers could be hiding behind every bush. My mother, Vanessa, rode close beside me, and Silas followed at the back like an ancient shadow. As the land grew harsher and the cliffs rose high above us, we finally saw the entrance. The old mine opened in the side of the mountain like a dark wound. The air was colder there, and a strange metallic scent filled the space, the smell of old magic and deep stone.

The front door. The lights on inside. Safe. Easy. Predictable. “Ma’am?” the driver asked. “We’re here.” I didn’t move. Didn’t reach for the door. Didn’t say anything. Because suddenly It felt wrong. "Now," Nathanial whispered urgently, and we dashed toward the mine shaft, slipping inside just as the guards turned back. The interior of the mine was cold and damp, the air thick with the scent of earth and decay. We moved cautiously, the narrow passages twisting and turning in a labyrinthine maze. The faint sound of whimpers and chains guided us deeper, until we finally reached a large chamber.

Olivia The inky blackness of the mine surrounded me, pressing in from all sides. Its weight was palpable, as though I were navigating through a tangible void. Each step felt heavy, laden with both the literal darkness of the cave and the metaphorical weight of my father’s legacy. Up ahead, the narrow beam of my flashlight bobbed unsteadily, providing fleeting glimpses of the mine’s wet, uneven walls and barely illuminating the way forward. The sounds of the mine were a cacophony in the eerie silence: water dripping from stalactites overhead, the distant echo of unseen creatures, and my own labored breathing. A draft occasionally filtered through the tunnels.

Don’t walk that way.” He said. “Securing?” “Yeah, these mines are pretty deep. I don’t want to take you all the way down. It’s better if we stay in the current area.”

I stayed at my corner without reaching for any thing while the rest of the women touched the walls of the mines and the beautiful glowing rocks sticking out of them. The sight of the mine is truly beautiful. Gold land Kingdom had earned its name because of its mines. The mines have been mined for hundreds of years, yet it never ran out of golf and glowing prescious rocks. "Are you okay?" A woman asked as she stepped close to me. "You don't look like you belong here." Her assumption made me frown. Letting my hands drop to my side, I tried to relax my shoulders. "I'm fine. It's my first time near the mines. I'm just a bit nervous." I replied.

With that, I grabbed my jacket and quickly left, slamming the door behind me. ----- I walked around the hotel, letting my thoughts run wild, thinking of other ways I could get the proof, just in case this stupid little chip didn’t work. Not that I didn’t have faith in my friend; my faith was lacking in Nick. I was sure he wanted his kids, but I wasn’t sure anymore where his heart or his true feelings may lay. I sighed, reaching up and undoing the twist, feeling someone behind me and smiling as I turned.
