Game of Hearts

Game of Hearts

"I'll find a new partner. Jamie can team up with Mum so she can participate in the games for a change." We all wondered who Jeanette's new partner would be, but Auntie Laurel seemed surprisingly calm. I overheard her telling Jamie, "We have to win, so I don't have to buy Conrad or Jeanette a car. I don't want either of my children to end up in jail or reported missing." As we gathered in the living room, Auntie Laurel announced the games for the night—charades, French culture, and painting. However, Jeanette's partner had yet to arrive.

"Please." "Don't go there, AJ," I warn, taking on a hostile tone. "I mean it. It doesn't matter anyway. I'm with you now." AJ stares at me in contemplation before looking away, obvious sadness in her eyes. I'm not there yet. I can't do it. Fortunately, a phone call interrupts the awkward tension floating between us. I quickly take out my cell phone and answer Max. "What is up, dude?" "It's a freaken miracle! We're not pregnant!" He shouts into the phone, just about deafening me in the process.

The Love Game

The Love Game

His eyes twinkled with delight, and he smiled. "I don't have much time today, so let me get right to the point." His fingers had relaxed on her wrist, and his thumb glided leisurely over her pulse point. Her heart was definitely beating. It was most likely like a train under his fingertips. She remained still. She didn't even take a breath. She didn't want to miss out on the wonderful sensation of his touch. Did he realize how crazy his influence on her was? "I have a wedding coming up this weekend." She swears his lips twisted in disgust. "It's a family wedding." My brother is marrying in Marrakech. I'll be there Wednesday evening, which is why I won't be able to attend our Thursday meeting

Broken Mirrors of Truth

Broken Mirrors of Truth

Star Anise
The car made its way through the city, carrying her closer to a reunion that held a mix of anticipation and reluctance. As the vehicle entered through the imposing gates of Gray's Villa, Ezra found herself devoid of any discernible feeling. No surge of happiness, no pang of sadness—just a neutral emptiness. However, as the car approached the main gate, a figure came into view. It was none other than her mom, standing at the gate with an eager anticipation that mirrored the storm of emotions swirling within Ezra.

Deadly Game

Deadly Game

With a fluid, powerful leap, he launched himself into the open abyss, swinging across the massive gap with the terrifying grace of a seasoned soldier, his boots slamming perfectly onto the narrow metal platform of the cradle sixty stories in the air. He stabilized the platform, his dark eyes locking onto me through the rain, challenging me. I didn't hesitate. I kicked off the concrete ledge, my body memory taking over instantly. The wind tried to tear me offline, but I adjusted my center of gravity mid-air —a technique I had mastered during my years as Ghost, long before I ever met Malakai. I landed silently beside him on the swaying metal cradle, my boots making no more noise than a drop of

The Miracle Luna

The Miracle Luna

“What is it?” I stepped forward, hesitant but determined. “I know it might sound ridiculous, but… I saw someone. A man. In my mirror this morning. Grey hair, stormy eyes, but not old. He wasn’t just a reflection either—he was there. Staring at me. And then he just disappeared.” Aurora’s expression didn’t change much, but I saw it—just a flicker, a shift in her eyes. She wasn’t surprised. “Mirrors,” she said slowly, “aren’t always what they seem. Especially not to someone… awakening.”

The Games of the Heart

The Games of the Heart

Yet maybe this is exactly what I need - to face my demons head-on. I have to see her to know if she’s still alive after all these years. The thought makes my heart race, a staccato beat against my ribs. I step out of the steam-filled bathroom, wiping condensation from the mirror to stare at my reflection. My eyes are wide, a mix of determination and fear swirling in their depths.

Awesome! This is the second book I’ve read from this author and it is outstanding! Love this family and their story. Wonderful storyline, written well, held my interest, strong characters, not drawn out and just an amazing love story. Adding you to my favorite list author. Will be reading more.

I loved this book. The grammar and English were great. I’ve partly read and quit several books on there that were literally unreadable. I got a little confused on Andrea’s family not knowing Stefano but it was explained later.

THE GAME

THE GAME

Ariana said, and Mira giggled. " I don't know, later or never?" I said and drank from my bottle. " See? She doesn't even know. If not for the crazy bet she made when she first arrived, I'm pretty sure she'll die a nun." Ariana said and pulled my hair. I winced. " What is up with you Ari?" " Maybe she doesn't want to give it to the wrong person," Mira suggested. " You know, you have to be able to love someone that much to let them be your first... Even if it's only for a week and you don't know their name."

The Lockdown Game

The Lockdown Game

Driblets of water trickled down Eve's body as she bent her head over the steamy shower. The water made her feel clean, and it made her think nasty things. Alone with a man in his house, she thought. That had been a success. What other games could she play on him? Maybe a game of him never missing a shower with her. Maybe one that would hold him glued to her. Eve shook her head, unsure of what she was doing.

The Game of Truth and Lies

“Seven Chosen for the Game of Sins.” Farrah muttered as she read the headline in the paper. Her fingers trembled slightly as she turned the page. The ink was smudged, but she could still make out the words printed beneath the headline. [ The Rules of the Game ] [ 1. Only the Cursed may enter the Game. Those whose names are written upon the Statue of Avarra shall be pulled into the Trials. You cannot summon yourself, nor refuse the call once chosen. ]
