> “Trying to. Mimicking. Maybe… learning.” Mira swallowed. “Great. So we’ve created a magical toddler with attachment issues.” > “You say that like it’s funny.” > “It’s either laugh or panic, Adrian. I’m choosing laughter for now.” But even as she said it, the mirror rippled — and a voice that wasn’t quite hers whispered from the reflection: > “Don’t laugh at me.” Mira froze. “Did you—?” > “Yes,” Adrian said grimly. “I heard it too.”

My blood went cold at his words, and my fingers turned numb as I snatched his phone to look. “Play it back and you’ll see it.” He said, now laughing about it, and I did; all that came out of my mouth was "Dear God," as I stared at the sight of Mira running into the water before she began to transform, before she was fully submerged, and a voice could be heard as they captured her footage. “Oh, my God!” I staggered as Alec laughed again, saying I could not possibly believe the video and that it was clearly AI. I didn’t let him finish and asked where he got this and before he could answer, I could see it was from some group.

After cleaning the broken tray, Mira excused herself earlier than normal. And the moment she stepped outside the chamber doors— She stopped breathing steadily. Her hands trembled violently. No. She knew what she saw. Twice. Not imagination. Not exhaustion. Something inside that mirror had looked back at her. And smiled. --- That night— Mira avoided mirrors completely. But sleep never came. Because every time she closed her eyes— She saw Elian’s reflection whispering silently through the glass. And somehow— Deep down— She felt certain of one terrifying thing.

Everything seemed intact. But the note… The spy wasn’t coming from the outside. They were already here. Inside the warded tent, Mira moved toward the potion cache when she felt it. A shift. A breath that didn’t belong. She spun around—dagger drawn. But she was alone. Or so it seemed. Then her reflection blinked. And smiled. The mimic stepped from the shadows—a perfect copy of Mira, every freckle and line mirrored. But the eyes were wrong. Just a little too dark.

I replied. The mimic laughed softly. “She will if she believes the voice belongs to you.” My breath froze. “No,” I whispered. “Yes,” she said again. “He can copy any voice he wants. Including yours.” Melissa’s voice echoed again through the chamber. “Jamal…” I looked up. “I am here. Keep talking to me.” The mimic stepped closer. “How will she know which voice is the real one.” A second voice filled the chamber. My voice. But I had not spoken.

But the words had barely escaped my lips when Akira's lips spread into a broad admiring smile, "awwwn!" Akira was beaming broadly, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she drifted a little into space. "That's so good of her," she stated, "I know there's something special about my maid." Deep within me, I couldn't help but agree with her, even though I didn't say it loud for her to hear. I knew there was really something special about her. "Anyway," Akira's voice sliced into the thoughts that had formed within me, bringing me back to the present,

Her eyes immediately stopped at Miram who was taking slow sips from something in her wooden but artistically carved cup. She was beautiful. Her hair was tied into a bun and then a few of her hair was made to rest on her face. Her dress too was luxurious. Mia immediately felt a bit small. There were others who were seated. Aaron was at the very end and Miram was seated beside him. The seat across hers was empty and Mia walked over to it and pulled it back to seat. She hears a snort. She saw that it came from Miram. "Pardon my manners but I was wondering why she thinks she is allowed to sit there." She said whilst still sipping from her cup.

, he brought a glass and handed it over to her and poured wine for her. “Thank you”, she said with a smile, she looked on at him with anticipation. “You are yet to see me become one with my favourite element, water”, he cleared his throat and bowed, “I am Lord Drago Mire”, he said in a thick funny accent, “I am a magician”, he bowed again. When he stood upright, he glared at her, “This is the point where you clap Raisel, haven’t you been to shows?” She laughed, “I’m so sorry Dragomir”, she stood to her feet and gave him a standing ovation, “Are you happy now?”

For the first time, she looked down at Raina from a place of power, feeling completely victorious. By now, it was a done deal. She was curious to see how this ‘loser’ Raina would possibly make a comeback—or if she even could. “Just die already, Raina!” In the audience, Raina sat quietly, a faint smirk playing at her lips.
