With a swing of his blade, he decapitated the monster. "Argh!" The monster screamed, and a surge of dark energy burst forth from its severed neck. The surges of dark energy resembled black snakes as they swiftly headed toward the students' orifices. Suddenly, Adrian appeared in front of the students to block the dark energy. With a thunderous roar, he dispersed the dark energy, and the monster vanished into thin air. Soon, all the monster’s minions retreated to the netherworld. In the deserted room, only Adrian, Ash, and the four trembling students remained.

The purple flesh didn't bleed; it exploded into a fine, gray powder that smelled of burnt sugar and old paper, the creature’s massive body collapsing onto the tracks in two separate, lifeless pieces. The remaining monsters stopped their harvest, their multiple rows of teeth twitching as they felt the sudden, violent termination of their pack mate’s frequency. They turned as a unit, their violet eyes locking onto the bleeding American girl who stood between them and their food. From the top of the entrance stairs, Kaden let out a roar of absolute fury as he saw her surrounded.
