You get your pole and catch it,” Little Bob told him adamantly. Mike assured him, “There is no monster down there.”

“I didn’t get the chance to thank you.” Her breath shook. “Thank me? You kissed me without my permission,” she whispered. “You scared me. And now—now you’re here? Why? What do you want from me?” The corner of his mouth tilted, almost amused. “So you know who I am.” “You’re Adriano Greco,” she said, her voice trembling. “The monster people talk about.” He took another step closer. “Monster?” he repeated softly. “That’s what they call me?”

She opens the book and a roach crawls out. I shriek, jerking my knees to my chest. Esme raises a brow. “You’re a wolf, and you’re scared of a roach?” “What’s a wolf without a wolf?” My smile is bittersweet. “Don’t do that,” she scolds. “You wolf will return. Now, when the rumours came, I consulted the books and some friends.” I try not to let my own thoughts scare me. “What did you find?” “You know, I’ve lived through almost seven decades, and I know a bloodline that had white hair. Moonblood.”

I blurted out the most unfiltered thing I have said since I arrived here. He erupted in a healthy laughter, holding his hands over his chest as the smile lines on his face bolded. “I promise you, Marsai of Crescent Moon Pack…we do not read minds of any sort. If we could read minds, I don't think my former home would have been raided by Valley vampires and savages. Do you want to know how I know what you are thinking?” Imon came closer, excitement glowing in his eyes. “Yes…” I replied skeptically. “Alright, it's simple.” He started, resting back into his resting position.

I looked at Sienna. She looked terrified. I looked back at Raven. "You didn't?" Raven hesitated. Just slightly. Enough. I stepped closer. "You know what your problem is?" Raven stayed quiet. "You think monsters look a certain way." The room was silent. I could hear Sienna breathing. I looked directly into Raven's eyes. "You want me to be angry." Raven's hand tightened around her phone. "You want me to confess." I smiled. "But you don't understand something."

This whole place was starting to look like a maze. “I just have to get out of here soon,” he mumbled to himself. He wasn’t a fan of books, but he was going to do all he could to make sure that he found the truth. Finally, he settled on 4 big books that were laced with images of tree monsters. They were actually a thing, and it was crazy that no one had realised this till now. He pulled the books to the nearby table and dumped them on it. One had a lock, and he skipped that since he didn’t have a key. Focusing instead on the other smaller books.

The monster was required to tell its victim its core rules. And those rules came in three parts. Being killed by the monster triggers a loop. The loop has a limit on the number of cycles. The monster can take human form. Three rules, neat and precise. As for the "extra" rule it had told me—that it could alter memories—that was nothing but a lie. The logic was simple. If every loop erased my memory, the monster had absolutely no need to tell me about the loop at all.

He turned around and started walking towards his room, “You are a loser Noah.” “What???” Noah could read someone’s mind but he wasn’t sure who. “Not funny,” he said as he turned around. A short distance away, the head of the Archfiend Monster poked from behind a pillar. Noah’s mouth went dry. The monster smiled crookedly and winked at Noah. *-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Once inside the library, Meredith helped them find another book. “The Fervour Spell. It’s the only way to kill the Monster.” Jill read. “It’s a very strong spell and it can hail a firestorm.”

I want to run over to Sky, to get him away from whatever monster who's trying to harm him, or is it me they are after? But just before I can make it to my now unconscious boyfriend, the monster grabs me. I start to scream but stop when I realize who it is. "Why are you with him?" The monster growls angrily. I don't think I have ever seen James this mad before. He's practically fuming with anger but I don't care, not when Sky could be dying right now. "Let go of me!" I try to get out of his grasp but he's too strong. "No!"
