Those were the last words I heard before the lid came down. The last glimmer of light in my heart finally died out completely. In the darkness I screamed and beat at the wood until my palms bled. "Let me out! Adrian, please! I'm scared of the dark, I'm actually scared—" The walls pressed in from every side, the air thickened, and the inscriptions flared with a deep, ugly red.
