I narrow my eyes at him, crossing my arms as I lean against the wall.
“Spit it out, Ryder,” I say, my tone flat but laced with irritation. “We don’t have all night.”
He exhales sharply, rubbing the back of his neck like it physically pains him to continue. “While I was there,” he starts, his voice slow and deliberate, “before I was caught, I found out something... unexpected about the Nardoos.”
“Unexpected how?” Alvera interjects, her voice sharp with impatience.
Ryder hesitates, glancing at me like he’s bracing himself for a reaction. “The Moon’s Tears,” he says, his tone steady but his expression is something else. “They don’t actually have it.”
