he tossed the whip to the floor and frantically worked on his belt, loosening it, and then my shackles. My feet burned painfully from the strokes he hand lashed out earlier and now. Blood drained down my numb feet and arms now they were freed. He grabbed me by the neck and hurled me towards the worn-out couch. I fought back. He wasn't expecting me to go for the abandoned silver chains left on the floor. But I did. I grabbed the chain and struck his head hard with it. This made him topple over. Broken Chains The silver cuffs around Marcus’s wrists popped open like ice cracking on a winter pond, just like that, no warning, no ceremony. Holy energy, rolling up from the guts of the castle, fried the corrupted metal and sizzled away the poison tubes jammed into his arms. The high ceiling was covered with black cloth, which would be luminated by light projector, making it look like a sky full of stars.
