I scream, shoving Alex toward Aria. Drones—not our drones, but sleek, black, insect-like machines—swarm through the broken windows. They have lasers. They start firing. "Defensive protocols!" Echo roars, his avatar expanding to shield the crowd. But the black drones tear through his code like paper. "It's a war," Alex yells, grabbing Kai and Emma. "It's an extermination," I realize, watching a drone vaporize a table. The celebration is over. The revolution is over. The invasion has begun.

He detested anything that made him vulnerable, it was too dangerous for someone like him especially with a human. In a bid to make the thoughts of Elaina leave his mind, he decided to think of something that would make him angry. His mind immediately went to Xavier and he imagined burning him up with the fire in his veins. Xavier was already on his death list when he captured him but this time he wasn't going to let him die that quickly, it was going to be a slow torture because it was because if him he met Elaina who was now the bane of his existence. When the Citadel manor felt that everything was going their way, the Headmaster pulled out one of the Black Order’s newest inventions. With a smirking, cold dominant voice, he spoke on the intercom, “We don’t have any vervain for the vampires, but that doesn’t matter with the use of our new weapon, all of them will kneel.” He declared and soon activated the death drones. The drones flew in every direction. They swarm like flies, hundreds of them looking for a pack of wolves to unleash their deadly silver gas on them.

The mutilated corpses of Taloren’s Chosen littered the ground as the drones dismantled each of them with surgical precision. One of the Drogar screamed in absolute pain as one of the drones dug its hind claws into him while it used its talons to slice him to ribbons. He was literally held down while he was disemboweled alive. The Drogar’s compatriot was on the ground next to him, completely frozen with fear. His hands shook so intensely that he could barely keep his gun trained on the drone.
