They would appear or not. I stopped and looked at myself a few years ago, full of dreams about being a teacher, getting married, and having children. Past-me smiled at me and then walked on. I turned away from her to a future me, or a possible future-me, as all future-mes were. Future-me was covered in white and seemed happy. No, I realized, she was content and at peace, which was not the same thing. Future-me reached out as though to touch me, as if I were curious about myself.

Have you ever wondered if you knew back then what you know now, what you would have done differently? I'm about to find out. “Alex, wake up, I’m your future-self and I've got to tell you about your future,” I tickle my past-self who is still fast asleep. He had apparently fallen asleep in front of the television because he is alone on the couch. I see peace in him that I no longer know. Slowly he opens his eyes, but jumps up in shock when he sees me. Understandably, I'd be shocked too if I saw my future-self, oh wait, that is exactly the case …

The Noah next to start to growl a little. “No worries mate, I’m you from the future. This dream is something Jane has seen before. Now you can see your future as well my man.” I smile and look beside me to see Noah now looking at himself and all of the sudden he looks at me. “What the hell is going on Jane.” “No worries, I know how you’re feeling. 2 years ago I was standing where you were and I was talking to my future self.” Now I was a little confused too. “Don’t worry daddy, you will find out sooner of later. And I can’t wait to cuddle you when I get out of mommy’s tummy.”

My future. I look at the bags. The letter. The tomorrow that's waiting. And I know what I need to do. I'm ready.

He ushered me out of his chambers and we made our way back to where everyone else was. Tomorrow was going to be a big day. Tomorrow, I am going to unlock a new phase of my life. From tomorrow on, I will not remain a clueless being, wandering through the roads, thinking about what to do next. From tomorrow on, I will know what I want and I will know what to do exactly to accomplish that. Tomorrow, I was going to start something to make my name written in the pages of history, to make my place among the stars above, to make my name be remembered for eternity, even after I die.

There was just the faintest accusation in his tone. "I guess maybe that's true. But Nate would've died much differently. His last months wouldn't have been as happy as they were.
