His men were on their way, but they were still ten minutes out.
Ten minutes was too long.
He had to hold them off alone.
Hector moved silently through the shadows, keeping his back to the wall. He saw the first man step into view. Tall, lean, armed with a shotgun. The man scanned the room but missed Hector completely.
A rookie mistake.
Hector raised his pistol and fired once.
