It was a stressful day, but in the end, my night was still peaceful. It’s all early on Valentine’s day to set up booths. There was a little more program in the gym for culminating activity before that. We headed straight to our booth after the program. The sounding slap of Diana made the governor gasp in surprise. "How dare you!" The governor said. Diana pointed her fingers at him, dangerously walking towards him. "Interfere and be slapped!" She spat out. "Are you actually threatening me?" The Governor asked. Just as Diana was about to slap him, her hands was caught in the air. She turned around to see who had dare hold her hand only to realise it was the General. The Prime minister used that as an opportunity to slap Diana while she was not looking making her infuriated. "Ahhhh!" She screamed forcefully getting her hands from the general hold as she approached the prime minister with a punch.

I replied to him calmly while he laughed darkly, taking out a piece of paper from his pant's pocket. "This says you pay me the last day of every month Violet, not a day or two days after. Do you think I'm playing with you here?" he asked me, still fuming. Henry was a short man, maybe two inches taller than I was, with light brown skin and very soulless eyes. He was quite an unattractive man. He had even made sexual advances to me when I just moved in here with my mother, of which I had declined then.

​He didn't reply, instead, he stepped close again, closer than before, until I could smell the faint scent of expensive cologne and something deeper, like leather and warm spice. He placed his hands on my shoulders, his touch professional yet utterly invasive, and stared down at me. ​“I think you owe me one more thing, Mona,” Kade murmured, his thumb gently tracing the faint, hairline scar tissue near my left eye, the hidden marker of my brutalized childhood. “You owe me the name of the man who put this there. If we’re partners, I think it's imperative to know why you hate all men so much.”

--- A soft knock echoed through the quiet apartment. Henry looked up from the book resting on his lap. With a sigh, he placed it on the coffee table and shifted in his wheelchair. He moved toward the door slowly, his hands steady on the wheels. Unlocking it, he pulled the door open. His breath caught when he saw a man he hadn’t seen in years. “Valen,” Henry whispered, his voice nearly cracking. “You came.” Valen gave a quiet nod, his eyes sweeping over Henry from head to toe. “Long time,” he murmured, glancing briefly past him toward Caleb.

He was enjoying every bit of it “why are you interested in any of this anyways? It’s dangerous. It might look fascinating now but the dangers that come with it is insane” Henry warned as he lifted his shirt and doused his wound with hydrogen peroxide He grunt with clenched fists and veins showing on his neck that he wanted to scream but couldn’t, Dylan’s face was pulled into irritation. “If you were me and you found out that the supernatural was real, everything you watched and wish you could be your whole life was actually real. Won’t you ask questions?” Dylan shrugged

"I'm very sorry Eve. I know you are not in the mood to speak with me but I hope you accept these gifts. Get well soon." Eve kept the phone on her lap and folded her arms across her chest. She stared at the flowers and shifted her face to the box of chocolates. "They are nut-free," Henry announced. She was about to speak when the door to the office was pushed open. Phil walked in. Eve glared at him and went on to press her phone. Henry turned toward him with astonishing eyes. That was fast he thought. He had expected Phil to take about five minutes to get to the security department to get Dane.

Then Valentine, who had been sitting quietly until now, took out his gun and pointed it at Henry. "Ah, alright. Alright. I'll take them off." Henry said urgently as he slowly lowered one hand. He seemed to be about to undress. At that moment, Leo quickly approached Henry and took a small pistol from his waistband. Henry grimaced in despair, as though he had been planning to pull out the hidden gun. "Stand up." Valentine said. Leo, who had his gun barrel at Henry's temple, kicked Henry's shoe with his toe as if to hurry him. Henry got up from his seat awkwardly with both hands raised beside his ears. Leo grabbed the end of his shirt and pulled it up in one motion.

His touch was like a cold, clammy vice, and it brought back all the horrible memories of when he had tried to take advantage of me and Jane in the woods. As Henry's fingers dug deeper into my skin, I couldn't help but think that I would rather be with Damian, despite the danger that lurked beneath his surface. At least with Damian, I felt a twisted sense of safety, a sense that he wouldn't hurt me without a reason. Henry, on the other hand, was a wild card, a psychopath with no conscience and no qualms about hurting those around him. "Hey, why complaining, my love? Didn't you miss me?" Henry's voice was like a snake slithering through the grass, making my skin crawl. His smile was repulsive,
