I gave a small nod, and he gave me one last glance before walking out and shutting the door behind him. I stood for a few minutes, then walked to the door and locked it. Large windows overlooked the city lights and the entire apartment looked modern and warm compared to the freezing nightmare outside. Unfortunately, it still didn’t feel like home.
