He lay vertical on the bed, his damp hair staining my white pillowcase, and I was sitting crossed-leg, facing him, studying the soft flush on his cheeks as he chewed on his roll.
"We can't run away anymore," I said, finishing my breakfast. "VOGUE is already here."
The weird bubble in my stomach appears again, the same warm feeling I felt when Lucas told me about his mother, when we were planning about our security and staff. It was the casualty of it that made me uneasy. Thankfully, my door bursts open, actually making me reconsider to elope instead.
"It's already pas—" Chase stops short as he sees Lucas and I in bed together. His eyes grew in surprise and immediately narrowed in suspicion.
