She felt a connection to history as she did, and it made her feel alive. She also couldn’t help feeling, every time she picked up a book, that it held a riddle, some mystery to be solved—and that thrilled her. For some reason, she had always felt that there was a mystery lingering in her consciousness, something she needed to solve. She didn’t know what. It didn’t make sense, and that bothered her. When she worked on a rare book, at least she could solve clues she couldn’t put her fingers on in real life.

I fell asleep after several minutes. The next day, I decided to head into a few stores with Jenny. Just to get away from the mansion and have some great company. Something to distract myself from the troubles inside my brain. Jenny and I headed into a book store and we looked around. We both enjoyed reading all sorts of books. Reading something can make you forget about the world around you for a moment and some books can even make you feel like you’re in whatever world is created inside the book. I couldn’t help but smile. He squinted his eyes at me. “Ah, you know something that I don’t.” “Know what?” My smile widened. “At least, you share my frustration. It’s a good book, right?” “Yes. One of the great books I’ve read.” “I don’t even know if you read.” He smiled sadly. “One thing only a few people know about me, but yeah, I read.” “What’s your genre?” “Thriller, mystery, nonfiction. But Midnight is a mix of—"

The library was quiet, the afternoon sunlight filtering through the stained-glass windows. Anna sat alone at the far corner, the mysterious book, The Reflection Game, spread open before her. Her finger traced the intricate designs on the yellowed pages, her heart pounding with both excitement and unease. The cryptic instructions whispered to her, their meaning elusive but tantalizingly close. She didn’t understand why she felt so drawn to the book, but she couldn’t let it go. It was as if the book had chosen her, as if it were calling her to uncover its secrets.

Fuck, she makes me feel everything. "It is indeed a good morning," I say wrapping more of her wild hair around her ear so I can see her face better. "Sorry, I fell asleep," she says. I'm not sorry. I didn't want to get into her Dad's allegations last night and even though she wasn't happy about it she asked me to read her the book she had grabbed off my book shelf. One of my favorites. It's a mystery novel about two mates who find each other while they are both trying to catch the same serial killer that's on the loose.

My smile faded slightly, but I didn’t speak. He went on, his voice soft. “When Marceline moved in, everything changed. The house was quieter before she came, and she always had a way of filling up a room until you couldn’t breathe in it. I needed an escape. So I started reading everything I could get my hands on. Fiction, mostly. But mysteries were my favorite.” There was a subtle heaviness in the way he said it that tugged at me. “I can see why,” I said, curling the blanket closer around me. “In mysteries, the chaos makes sense eventually. There’s a pattern that’s waiting to be uncovered.”

It was titled the *THE DIAMONDS* After tireless searching, she finally found it on a particular shelves that had a word engraved on its metal handles. It read, *mysteries*. She quickly grabbed the book out and sneezed repeatedly as the dust on the book found its way into her nostrils. She went to he father's old study and sat on the rusty chair while putting on the mini lamp on the table and finally in great anticipation, she opened the book.

Then there were his psychology books and books on wilderness craft. His gaze fell on a small cluster of volumes of English literature, some that Faith had convinced him to try. While he couldn't bring himself to read them, he hadn't been able to part with them, either. The top shelf held an extensive collection of contemporary bestsellers, and it was one of those he chose, a mystery thriller, as he heard the first roll of thunder. "Yep, Bear, it seems like a 'dark and stormy night' kind of night." He gave the dog a pat as he settled down in his chair.

I walked downstairs to my boutique with a mug of coffee in my hand and a book which I'm currently reading. It was still raining outside making a puddle of water in different places on the street. I sat down in front of my counter and took a sip of my coffee. "Um, heavenly." I said and put the mug on the counter in front of me as I opened my book and started to read. I was reading a criminal novel. I only read three genres and that is romantic, criminal and fantasy.

I can feel a shiver run down my spine as I gulp. Something is weird about the atmosphere... how come everyone suddenly disappears? I slowly swallow the candy that was sitting in my mouth. It was a soft candy, so it didn't hurt my throat. Clenching the handle of my bag tightly, I try to walk as normally as I could master. *Bathump! Bathump!* Calm down... there must be a reasonable explanation why this happened, right? A shadow shape of a person appeared behind me. The more I try to walk faster, the more it follows me. Turning around to the different alleyway, I tried to lose the shadow. Since I wasn't paying attention to where I'm heading, I ended up walking to a dead end.
