The man pulled me violently and with his great strength I ended up on the right side behind him in a place where the monsters couldn't reach me. Three more tried to rush us, but they didn't do anything the way the crazy man kicked. If his behavior wasn't bad I might have applauded him. I thought he was winning consecutively, but my eyes widened when he bit his shoulder. I heard him scream in pain.

Nico grinned at me. I took a carrot from the bag and held it out to him. He was huge and I was concerned that he might bite. Nico chuckled, “Darina, don’t pull away.” Nico took my hand and brought it to the animal’s soft mouth. He took the carrot with his lips, tickling my hand. Demon nudged my hand with his nose.

I replied. She frowned. "You look worried..." she commented, analyzing me. "Well, I'm a little nervous," I admitted. "Yeah, tell that to your poor fingernail," she laughed, pointing to my little finger, because I was eating my fingernail. I know, it's disgusting. I'm sorry, I'm anxious, nervous.... And anything that ends in bear. I smiled. "Relax," she calmed me down.

Gum can't always fix the clenching, grinding, and oral sensation that biting myself can. "Natalie, hello in there?" Sammy says, snapping me back into my imperfect life. "What? I spit the gum into the toilet. I lift the sleeve of my sweater and bite three times in the same spot. A bruise starts to form. Ouch... I hurt myself again. Dumbass.

“Oh, right. She’s fine—just a little swelling. Some ointment will take care of it.” As Chris turned to answer, his gaze fell on the faint red mark on Carl’s lip. “What happened to your mouth? Did someone hit you too?” Carl reached up and casually wiped his lip. “Bitten.” Renee’s foot shot out, kicking the wheel of his chair in protest. Carl narrowed his eyes slightly but kept his tone calm. “I bit myself while eating.” Chris and Jackson exchanged glances, their expressions barely suppressing laughter. Renee wanted to disappear. The awkwardness was suffocating.

I grabbed a pair of pliers and stalked toward him, grinning. He blinked, looking startled at my grin. I dragged a chair forward and sat down beside him. Then I gripped his wrist firmly and methodically began pulling off his fingernails. His screams of pain were like music to my ears. Too soon, all of them came up and I got to my feet. I considered taking off the toe nails but decided to leave those for later. He was still screaming, his limbs trembled as he stared at spots where his nails once were. "It seems you are not inclined to laugh now," I said, before punching him in the face.

Anthony “I don’t think worms squirm as much as you do,” I voiced, sighing as I attempted and failed to get Nori to sit still while I brushed her teeth. “Dammit,” I hissed, jerking my finger back when she bit me. “You’re like a little shark. I think I’ll call you that until we leave this afternoon. My little shark. That has a nice ring to it.” I chuckled when Nori bared her beaver teeth at me with toothpaste foaming from her mouth. I was laughing at that.” Nadine said, pointing towards the TV, where a badly costumed werewolf bit a human, and the human immediately turned into a werewolf.
