Marybeth stopped, her heart racing out of control as a sheet of sweat drenched her entire back, her cotton t-shirt sticking to her clammy back like glue. "What is that?" she asked, unable to keep the dread from her voice. When Nikolai stole the journal from them, she was secretly glad, grateful even that they no longer had to deal with the horror of Iris' past.
