Rosa’s POV – The Night of Nightmares The bus dropped me off just outside Brenton. I stood alone by the road, my small bag hanging on my shoulder. The wind blew cold against my skin, even though it wasn’t winter. It was fear. I had returned. Not as the villain. Not as the hero. Just Rosa. A woman trying to face her past. I didn’t go to Dickson’s house that night. I booked a room at a small lodge far from town. I needed one more night alone. One night to breathe before facing everyone again.

Chapter 67 Stefan Rodriguez stared into his whiskey glass, watching the amber liquid catch the dim bar light. This was his fourth drink of the night, or maybe his fifth. He'd lost count somewhere between the endless news alerts about Rose's scandal and the memories that wouldn't stop haunting him.

I was in a deep sleep when a loud, relentless knock on the door pulled me out of my dreams. My head throbbed from the noise. "Rebecca? Are you awake?" Giovanni asked. I didn't bother to answer.
