I wanted to move away at the same time as move close, so instead I stayed still, letting the smell of the forest and the wolves wash over me, listened to the day wind down and the night stir into existence. Out of nowhere Christian rolls over-nearly squishing Mikki who looks up startled by his swift movement. I turn my eyes to Christian curiously and could smell it in air from the others as they all trained their eyes on the wolf. Christian raises his nose into the air and a second later the sound of his howl fills the night, cuts through the night sounds and echo's over the snow.

Brian POV The next morning, I head straight to my office, and as I do this, I try to link Anna, and she doesn't respond. I link my mom and dad. They verify she's still asleep and the kids are, too. I let them know what I'm doing and that I thought I heard the guy mumble a few familiar names. I thought he said the names of two of the most vicious and violent super natural beings ever heard of. It may sound weird because here I am being a werewolf, but we also have stories we don't believe in, and one of them is the story of Noctis. This was a group of six supernatural creatures that were not "normal."

“Then what do you want?” Silence. “I don’t have all day, Caius.” “It’s the Nocturis, your majesty. As I speak to you, they are currently standing by the border and I fear it is not for a good thing.” My eyes widened a little. “The Nocturis?” He nodded. “Although they haven’t done anything out of the ordinary, I just thought to let you know about this.” I clenched my fist tightly beside me. Those damned blood sucking earthlings again.

“Listen up, I am Fenrir, Alcinder’s wolf speaking. I will not spare anyone who tries or even thinks of threatening my position as the incoming Prime Alpha of Alparo. We have a mate. There will be no discussion again of a new Alpha.” “Alcinder, why didn't you say that you had a wolf and a mate? When did this happen? I am so happy.” Luna got up to hug Alcinder but she stopped him and walked out of the room. Alcinder went to the Kitchen to get dinner. As he opened the fridge to get some apples, he received a message that everyone in the park was to assemble at the Auditorium immediately, it was a matter of great urgency.

The voices intensified as a beam of light lit up Jeremy on a higher stage. The rhythm he played started soft and slow but little by little the drums intensified. When the symbols crashed, a platform rose onto the stage with Kyung Jiho on it. Hae Mina grinned when she saw the white slivers light up under the black lights. On the back of Kyung Jiho's shirt was his name and on the arm was the Nightide emblem. The drum's symbols crashed and the next instrument joined. One by one, Nightide appeared on the stage with their parts. Hae Mina knew this was not her song to come in on because she had never been given a part.

“Oh?” Thomas cast a glance at him. “What mistake have I made?” There was a cold glint in Nipper’s eyes. “Let me make this clear, we’re members of Nocturnal in Central City. If you offend us, it means that you’re offending Nocturnal. There’s only one thing waiting for you, and that’s death!” Was he threatening Thomas? But, a threat was something that Thomas was not afraid of the most. He blinked and asked, “Nocturnal? Does it refer to beasts at night?”

Even children learned to recognize it from history books and whispered adult conversations. Noctis Academy. The name alone was enough to make powerful nobles straighten their backs. It was the most prestigious supernatural academy in existence, a place where only the most gifted elites were admitted. Future rulers studied there. Monster prodigies trained there. The strongest supernatural bloodlines in the world gathered there. It was a place revered by many and feared by even more. It was also the one place I had spent years praying to avoid. Aunt Mira studied my face before speaking. “You don’t have to accept it,” she said softly, though both of us knew life

A smile curved across Frederick’s face as he watched them race ahead, “Look!” Stella gasped, skidding to a stop near the bushes. “A moth!” “What are moths doing here?” Nicholas asked, squinting. “Looking for food,” she replied confidently. “They’re nocturnal.” “What is nocturnal?” “It means creatures that do things at night.” Nicholas stepped closer to her, “So… are we nocturnal now?” Before she could answer, a tiny glowing dot drifted past them. “Fireflies!” they exclaimed in unison, chasing the soft lights with wonder.

It was late at night. "What kind of emergency happened so Ady couldn't come in? Jasper is all right." I frowned. "Unless..." ---- Ady's POV "We call them wolf mates rather than soulmates or destiny.
