Novel Cat App Novels & Stories

I put down Serefina on my lap then she immediately lied down and slowly closed her eyes. The kitten also seems to have given up on waiting. I let out a deep sigh and picked up my cell phone and play games to distract myself. I never reopened or checked my social media because I didn't want to burden myself with the news that I have read. Cassandra is right, no matter what happens, the problem will be easier if we face it together. It's been my third game on a car racing application when I heard the door opened. I quickly put down my phone and gently removed the cat from my lap before smilingly standing up to greet Xenoah.

“The shelter’s fine now, Nelly. The water didn’t rise at all today. In two days, once the weather clears, the boats will be able to set out to sea again.” She nodded and briefly set her phone down. “Have some dinner, Ser. Caty cooked… spicy chicken biryani, I think? Anyway, it’s delicious, and I’m sure you’ll like it.” He smiled at Nelly. “It’s okay, Nell. I don’t have much of an appetite.” She shrugged and glanced at what he was carrying. “What’s that? Are you changing your phone again?” “This is for Caty so she has something to use if she needs to contact someone, without borrowing yours.”

Jared, Oscar, and Wyatt, drunk and sex-deprived, started banging on the walls in rhythm, like a drunken drumline. Aaron raised his phone and pushed it across the table toward Knox. “Sign up.” Knox narrowed his eyes. “A dating app? That’s it?” Aaron’s grin widened like the Cheshire Cat on crack. He tapped into his gallery. Photos of women appeared. Knox frowned. They looked oddly familiar. “This is what you’re gonna do. You’re gonna pretend to be a girl… and catfish Victor.” Knox recoiled. “That’s insane.” He bit back the immediate, “fuck no,” that almost shot out of his mouth. Of course, it was Victor.

Snowy, usually feral, hung limp—dead asleep. Bubba and Missy didn't react either. Heads down. Out cold. Still talking, Alan moved to toss Snowy into the tank. "Don't!" I shouted. "I'll leave. Just don't hurt them." Only then did he fling Snowy back at me. "Smart. Get the hell out. Come back and I'll feed you to the crocs too." One hour until the apocalypse. My fully stocked home? Gone. I was out on the street with my three cats.

His blue eyes met with hers halfway. “Well if it isn’t Mr. Grouchy.” She beamed. “Who let the farrel cat in?” He pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance. His nickname for her was cat because of her name being Caitlynn. His blue orbs were blank, as always. “No one did. The cat let herself in.” Caitlynn replied smoothly. “Swallow any more books and your head is gonna turn square shaped.” Blaise scowled. “In fact I’m starting to see some symptoms.”

She didn’t seem like one of the regular people we got off the streets by a long shot. “I think I’m done, Sera said. “I’ll leave you something for the bruises, but you’re stuck with the over-the-counter stuff for painkillers. Downside of not using a real doctor.” Cat flinched. “Is there anyone we can call for you?” I asked. “No,” she said quickly, her eyes suddenly wide. “Don’t call anyone. Everyone I’ve ever known is dead, and no one who knows me calls me Cat.” The door swung open, and Lauren leaned in. Cat sprang over the bed, completely silent, and raced for the window. We kept it locked as a precaution, but she yanked and scratched at it wildly.

Rebecca decided to take a shower first, then look up some information about studying abroad before going to bed. But algorithms were truly annoying, always managing to push content one didn't want to see right into view. She opened the app, and sure enough, Catherine's new note jumped to the top of her feed. It was posted just minutes ago, about what had happened that evening. There was a photo of interlocked hands—Vance's hand holding hers.

Cat had a hot guy radar like no one I’d ever met. I filled her in. Just as I finished the long version of my story, the waiter brought us our food. I dug into my steaming bowl of mac and cheese, sure that carbs were the solution to all my problems. Cat shoved a chili-covered fry into her mouth. “I can’t leave you alone for even a single weekend, can I?” she said around her food. “If you ask me, you should never, ever go back there. That’s just asking for trouble.”

As for Fay, stay out of the way. Fay heard that but lazily responded. She was focused on the game she was playing. Last night she saw a cute cat petting game on Mika's phone. She immediately downloaded it, and this morning, she was upset because she forgot to put the cat to sleep. When she logged into the app, the cat looked tired and hungry. The kids came into the living room and could hear what Gina was saying. They silently denied it.

Until he decided he would finally put out. A few days later, Cato walked into my room unannounced. He was in a navy blue suit, like he’d just finished a meeting. The house was so big that I never really knew when Cato was home or not. Sometimes he was in Florence, and sometimes he had meetings in his parlor downstairs. I was told not to bother him during work hours. He held up a cell phone. “This is for you.” He tossed it onto the bed. Black and sleek, it probably had games and access to the internet. I didn’t have a laptop or a device, so it would be a nice change to have access to the outside world. “Thanks.”
