" An Hour Later The air in the capital still shimmered with lingering magic from its miraculous rebirth, but there was no time to bask in triumph. The Harbinger was out there - watching, waiting. Every second wasted brought it closer to destruction. Lyra stood at the heart of the citadel, Kane beside her, his expression unreadable as he watched the witches prepare for the next phase of their work. casting a spell toward my worst enemy, Mistress Elizabeth Black of the witches' realm. "He, who Crosses paths with Edina shepherd, must come on his knees and bowed down before me." I hissed believing in the magic. I felt ethereal and powerful, imagining my silhouette casting against the dark sky. It’s the night that gives the magic power because the night is fundamentally intertwined with magic and the supernatural: the witching hour, black capes, hats and cats, Halloween parties, and graveyard visits, as the new generation would call it, gave me joyful goosebumps. "Mistress, I bring news to share with you." katana my trusted right-hand witchress whispered to my ear.

The moment the class ended he went straight to Earth, however, it seem like he was lost. He couldn’t understand how but after almost an hour of walking down the corridors toward the tower of Earth he still couldn’t get close to it. This made him frustrated, the more time passed by the stronger the feeling of jealousy built up in his chest. He realized that this could only be because of magic, similar to an illusion, there is a magic spell that can distort someone else sense of direction. He stopped walking and paused and decided to speak,

The smooth marble that shimmered softly under the light lead into the octagon shaped room where he practiced new magic. A part of me wondered if he expected an attack, since he brought me to the room where magical backfires held no importance. Butterflies tickled my stomach as I stepped onto the smooth platform that took up the other half of the room. It jutted out over the edge of the mountain, looking over the ocean as it crashed against the rocky cliffs. The moon had long replaced the sun, radiating silver light, where the sun was golden. The Game Master truly looked alive at night, the moon hanging directly above where he stood, just inches from the edge of the cliff.

Maria’s small voice trembled, fragile as a dying leaf in the wind. The others stirred at the sound, their tiny arms reaching for me with the last dregs of their strength. I dropped to my knees in the center of the desecrated ritual circle, the cold stone biting through my jeans. Moonlight filtered through the cracked ceiling above, bathing us in its silver glow. The moment I opened myself to it, the light softened, warming like a living embrace. It wrapped around us all, a protective cocoon of lunar magic that pushed back the lingering shadows of dark sorcery still clinging to the air.

POV: Zara Moon The old book burst into flames in my hands. I screamed and dropped it, watching ages of magical knowledge turn to ash on the library floor. The smell of burned paper filled the air as I hurriedly tried to stamp out the fire. "What did you do?" Celeste rushed over, her face frightened. "That was the only copy of the Shadowmere Chronicles!" "I don't know!" I was close to tears. "I was just reading about blue fire magic, and suddenly it just—"

Who would have thought? “Night beautiful. I’ll see you tomorrow. Don’t miss me too much.” Conor whispered. We snuggled together and fell asleep quickly holding hands. I woke up early the next morning and had talked Joanne into coming with me to the library so I could keep up on my Mage studies since I was told not to be out and about alone now that even more soldiers had arrived from all over the Zargan Empire. In my spare time, I had been reading over different spells and had no idea the actual variety of magic Mages had. I had found even more spells ranging from specialty magic that gave a Mage a sub-set of spells to make soldiers out of any natural materials. It made me feel better since

Veronica introduced us, and Jennifer looked up, her eyes settling on Xavier briefly before she looked at me with the same surprise. "You look like Jia," she muttered, turning in Xavier's direction. "You look exactly like Sr. Alpha Xavier." This woman was middle-aged, similar to Sia. "I hear that often," Xavier remarked. "You are the first to say that to me," I answered. Jennifer smiled in response as she showed us to our rooms. Xavier and my room were close to each other. Veronica mentioned she would meet me at dinner, and Jennifer would walk Xavier and me through the rituals before sunset, as this magic mostly works at night only when the full moon lights up the skyline.

Dike continued to speak as they walk fast. The more the warriors heard the story about the Lycan and their abilities and reason for vexation, the more afraid they were and that fear motivated them to walk as quickly as possible. They now have only 6 hours before the sun sets and these half-bloods would begin to wake up.
