I pulled her food out from the fridge. She eats regular human food. He raised his eyebrow. Yeah, kinda, it’s that freshpet dog food. It has to be kept in the fridge. She absolutely loves it. I told him as KC proved me right and devoured her food. Damn that actually looks good. He looked at the bag and sniffed the food. No judgement, I sniffed the food the first time I opened the bag also. It’s made from the same things we eat, chicken, carrots, beef, pumpkin, turkey, all the good stuff for them. He examined a piece and popped it in his mouth.

“I will do it if you do not shut up..” He opened the fridge, taking out a piece of meat, some vegetables, and eggs. He grabbed some different powders from the cupboard and a bunch of liquids from the fridge. Had she not seen him pour everything into the dog bowl, she would have thought he was getting ingredients to prepare a meal for humans.. “That dog eats better than all of us..” Elvio said, looking at Athena. “That dried store crap they sell is not food.” Giovanni spoke and something in Athenas heart twitched.. he really cared for that dog.

Gail asked as she dried him off. He growled. “No Butch?” He chuffed in reply. “Got it, what about Fido?” He just looked at her this time. When he was dry enough, Gail stood and drained the now muddy brown water. That was possibly his first bath ever. She opened the door to go fix them dinner. “Lucky for you, I just got a bunch of dog food samples. A lot of them will be perfect for you.” He whined in reply, though she swore it sounded more like a groan.

The universal dog response to any question that might involve food. I'd prepared for this. Weeks ago, when the vet had given me the list—soft foods, easily digestible, high in protein. She opened several kitchen cabinets, trying to see if there’s anything edible for the dog but found the pantry to be fairly empty. She had just arrived at the beach house this morning and had not managed to do her grocery run. Opening the freezer, she gave a huge sigh of relief as she found a packet of frozen hotdogs. Quickly, she popped the hotdogs in the microwave, defrosting the meat and then warming it for two minutes. “Here you go,” Annabelle gently placed the hotdogs in front of the husky and walked away, trying to find a bowl for the dog’s milk.

I’ll ask Patsy about working some shifts at the diner. I haven’t been gone long so maybe I can get my job back. Anything else?”
