I carefully stepped into the shop and greeted by an old man in his sixties. "Morning, I'm Marissa Henderson. I'm here to meet with Mr. Archibald Michaels?" "Ah...there you are, come in Ms. Henderson. Call me Archie, welcome to "Novelty", my little bookstore. I didn't know why you answer my opening, but you seem too lovely to tend to this old bookstore. Come sit down and we will have some tea." He ushered me to a window seating, the place was nice. "Oh, thank you. And call me Marissa please." I followed him.

I glanced around. The bookshop was small but cosy, with shelves packed tightly together, creating narrow aisles. The scent of old paper and ink filled the air, mixing with the faint aroma of vanilla candles burning near the register. The wooden floor creaked softly beneath my steps, and a warm, yellow light bathed the space, casting long shadows between the shelves. Books of all sizes and colours lined every inch of the walls, some nearly arranged, others stacked haphazardly on tables. A few framed pictures and handwritten notes were pinned to a corkboard behind the counter, adding to the shop's quaint charm. It felt timeless, like a place untouched by the chaos outside.

She again searched for it but couldn't find it anywhere. The next day she visited the same shop to buy another booklet of the same kind but to her surprise, the shop was entirely different from when she last visited. It was narrower and dull, the beautiful lady with a kind smile was nowhere and when asked about the booklet, she only found the ordinary ones, disappointed she left the shop with a sad face. ******

This was it, her new beginning. She walked into the shop, and the bell above the door chimed softly. The smell of new books and polished wood enveloped her, making her feel instantly at home. She glanced around, taking in the shelves filled with books of all genres, cozy reading nooks, and a counter at the back where a tall, kind-looking man stood.

The three of us entered the shop. When the owner saw that a TV program was giving him free publicity, he immediately greeted us enthusiastically. “Three beautiful ladies, looking for books? What kind do you like? I’ve got everything here!” Goselle waved her hand. “We’ll just browse on our own first.” “Alright!” I took a slow walk around the shop, my nose twitching slightly. Besides the fresh ink smell of picture books, the air was also filled with the scent of paper from all kinds of novels, classic literature, and manga.

I walked into the inner part of the book shop and excused myself after I belched. “This one is Six Thousand Naira”. “If you interrupt mw again, you won’t like what I’ll do to you…” The shopkeeper saw my countenance and left me alone, before going to fetch cellophane bag. He picked up the 2009 Guinness Book of World Records and bagged it, and waited patiently for me to pick another book. I soon picked The Family by Mario Puzo and Carol Gino. I was handing the novel to the shopkeeper, who was already with a calculator, when I saw it. It was a dark hardcover book, with pink and dark designs. I smiled broadly and extracted it from the shelf with both hands.

The old man who owned the shop was flustered, 'This is the first time someone actually wanted to read a book about mana other than that handsome kid. The smile on his face brightened, "If it's about mana, please follow me upstairs, but your servants cannot come with you." Chiara flinched, 'Why can't Fey and Shiela come with me upstairs?' She glanced at the two as they shook their heads to tell her not to go with the owner alone, but she already got word that it is the only book shop in the capital, the others are far from the palace. "I'll be back in a jiffy!" She exclaimed while running behind the old man to keep up with him.

He yelled out before asking them to take a seat. " So, do you have any gowns in mind?" Alena suddenly asked. Haven shook her head indicting 'no'. " Oh well it's no big deal, Nico's shop is one of the best shops in this side of the world. You can find literally anything in here — as long as it was clothes." She whispered before winking at Haven. Haven just sat there looking at her, sometimes she couldn't help but wonder how her mate even coped with such a woman.

She was so engrossed in the novel that she didn't see them until Khady finally spoke "Good morning" Khady greeted "Oh! I'm sorry" the lady said before greeting them " Good Morning to you. Welcome to Ashafa's shopping mall. How may I help you?" the lady said in a professional way
