The nurse placed her in my arms. I looked down at her. She was so tiny. So fragile. So beautiful. "Hi," I whispered. "Hi, baby." She opened her eyes. They were grey Elias's grey. I felt tears slip down my cheeks. "Hello, little one," I said. "I'm your mother." Elias was crying. He sat beside me, his hand on my shoulder, tears streaming down his face. "She's beautiful," he said. "She looks like you." "She looks like her mother."

He smirks, tracing his thumb along my lips. I shudder when his smooth palm makes contact with my thigh, sliding up. "W….what are you doing?" My lips tremble as the question slips out. The way my skin burns at his touch is strange and the burning sensation that feels within me causes more confusion. Why am I vulnerable to his touch? "I can smell the rejection all over you." He sniffs as he kisses my nape and a moan leaves my mouth before I can control it. The heat intensifies and my wolf's thuds are relentless.

In a flash, I headbutted her right on the nose. She let out a sharp cry, her face twisting in agony as she clutched at her bleeding, freshly done nose job. I whipped out a baton from my bag and swung it hard, landing a blow right between the legs of the bodyguard behind me. Spinning around, I zapped another guard on the knee with my stun baton. Before Alora could even catch her breath, I had her by the collar. With a solid bang, I slammed her against the fire hose reel on the wall.

He was handsome, but I refused to like him just because of that. "Everything," he whispered softly. His eyes looked less playful and more longing. He met my gaze, and his finger touched my hair, which made me feel something strange. For a moment, I closed my eyes and felt relief because of his presence. I felt Nova deep inside, and I could have sworn she purred when he touched me. "Do not touch me," I warned, moving his hand away. The feeling of his touch made me feel weak, and I hated it.

I immediately averted my face. "For your fast recovery" he simply said and read again. I just stared at him even though I could hardly breathe. I opened the book to distract myself from how I was feeling. I try to read the words in the book but I can't really focus because I'm having trouble breathing. I almost jumped in shock as I felt a little heat in my right arm. I looked at my arm and saw that our arms were touching. I felt the heat of his arm so I was more nervous. I went back to reading.

I told him, keeping my head on his chest, still hugging him. He hugged me back, keeping both his hands on my back, rubbing it. It feels nice whenever he touches me. His touch soothes my heart. I don't know what to call this feeling, but I know I have started to like him. “Does it mean from now onwards, you are going to listen to everything I say?” His husky voice reached my ear and I looked up from his chest, our lips just an inch away.

The touch is wrong. I've been touched without consent on this island before. I've cataloged it, filed it, learned to manage it, turned it into useful information. I know the texture of opportunistic wanting, of casual cruelty, of taking that doesn't pretend to be anything else. I've been managing these textures for three months with the precision of someone who's mapped the entire category. This is different.

“I don’t remember everything in the tomes, but we’ve read them enough times. We’ve also pieced together a lot. If we work from memory, we can start over.” “How long will it take?” I ask. Aurora lifts a brow. “How the hell am I supposed to answer that?” Count to ten, Alex… No use in tearing a witch’s head off now. Nova threads her fingers through mine and I focus on those delicious little jolts of electricity at our skin-to-skin contact. How can this woman bring me such a sense of calm through a single touch? “Get to work,” I say. Nova squeezes my hand. When I meet her gaze, she shakes her head slightly.

Novel's POV “How do you want it, Novel?” The voice was a low, velvet rasp against the shell of my ear, sending a frantic heat racing down my spine. I couldn't see him clearly the room was draped in shifting shadows but I knew that scent. Cedar and something dangerously wild. “I don't know... I’ve never done it before,” I stuttered, my heart thundering against my ribs. He didn't answer with words. Instead, his mouth found the sensitive line of my throat. I felt his teeth graze my skin, a sharp nip that made my knees turn to water. If he hadn't been holding my waist with those large, steady hands, I would have collapsed.

In a voice laced with honesty, she responds, "No... honestly, your touch is very different from what I have experienced in the past. It is nothing like that—yours remains soft and delicate, while his touch was aggressive and abusive." Terry nods, his understanding evident in his eyes. He recognizes the significance of Nora's words, realizing that what she seeks is a gentle touch that nurtures and heals. He appreciates the importance of treating her with utmost care and tenderness, allowing her to set the pace and boundaries of their intimacy. In that moment, a silent agreement passes between them. Terry vows to honor Nora's needs, to be a source of comfort and compassion, and to create a saf
