Number The Stars Audiobook Novels & Stories

Unknown Caller Arielle didn’t remember pressing the call button. She only remembered staring at the empty space where Daniel’s number used to be saved… and then deciding she didn’t need it. She knew it. Her fingers moved on instinct. Nine digits. Her heart thudded violently in her chest as the phone rang. Once. Twice. Three times— It clicked. Arielle straightened on the bar stool, suddenly breathless. “Hello.” That voice. Deep. Smooth. Controlled.

I start reading out loud and after the first two chapters, Blake tells me that we should switch to the audio book so it would be easier for us and I won’t have to stress myself reading out loud. He uses his phone to set up the audio book and we started listening to the book. We finished the audio book after two hours and I asked Blake what he thought about the book, “I actually enjoyed it a lot, I understood where Simon was coming from. His father hurt him a lot and he never expected to find love but he found Daphne and he was conflicted about whether he should break his vow or make the love of his life unhappy,” he replied.

In the lobby of the building where the joint press conference between the Leones and Shaws was taking place, dozens of media outlets had gathered in waiting already. Henry was standing around in a side lounge with a scowl on his face. He'd sent dozens of messages, all of which went unanswered. Once again, he tried to call Elena, and this time, he got the robotic automatic message. "The number you have dialed cannot be reached at the moment…" Was Elena's phone turned off?

Sophia’s POV The sedan’s engine growled as we tore through the city, the drone’s red lights blinking like malevolent eyes in the rearview mirror. Rain streaked the windshield, blurring the neon signs and streetlights into a kaleidoscope of color, but nothing could blur the image of my father staggering, clutching his side as the visitor’s gunshot echoed. My heart was a raw wound, torn between grief and the faint, stubborn hope that he was still alive. The numbers—7-4-9-2-1-8—pounded in my mind, a lifeline tying me to him, to the cabin, to the cipher he’d hidden in me. *The stars will show you the way.* But the stars were gone, swallowed by the storm, and I was running blind.

Before I…’ Suddenly Gabriel heard a strange sound. Frowning, he looked down at the woman in his arms. For a moment, he heard only the quiet snuffle of her breathing and the sound of morning birds singing outside in the pale blue of dawn. Then he heard Calleigh suck in her breath again. And she started to moan slowly. **********

You–you alone–will have the stars as no one else has them–” “And at night you will look up at the stars. My star will just be one of the stars, for you. “In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night And so, you will love to watch all the stars… You–only you–will have stars that can laugh. I shall not leave you” There is sweetness in the laughter of all the stars….and in the memories of those we love.” As she closes the book, applauses started to fill the quiet space they all filled. "Ms. Stark! Ms. Stark! Mommy's bleeding so much! Please, tell the doctors to save her!" To keep me company, my son had suffered hunger and cold these past few days. My poor son, who'd been living in luxury his entire life. After everything, his hands were already swollen beyond recognition. Now, as he pounded on the door, his skin split open, smearing fresh blood on the wood. I cried out, begging him not to do this. He shouldn't beg that witch for me! I was already dead… Unfortunately, souls couldn't speak. Suddenly, the door of the ward opened. Jasmine was sitting there, elegantly sipping on a bowl of nourishing soup.

“Don’t feel sorry for me. I’ve always been proud of you. “And don’t hate me, Luna. I wasn’t there for much of your life, but I hope you’ll become brave and responsible…” My smile faded. Then came Luna’s wailing cries, crashing through the silence like shattered glass. And I heard so many voices from that mountain, from the countless lights across the land. They were proof that I had been here, that I had lived. And for that… My journey in this world had been worth it. … Epilogue - Amber Sky
