No, I needed to get going, or I would lose my mind. A light knock sounded from the other side of the door before a nurse walked in, giving me a small smile, followed by Lincoln and a younger werewolf with emerald green eyes and onyx hair. He definitely looked like he worked out every day. His eyes roamed over me and then the room. I spotted my duffel bag in his hand. The nurse grabbed my chart before heading out of the room again.

At that moment, I saw Martin talking to the pretty nurse he was staring at when we arrived at the hospital. I was a little bit surprised because I have never known him to be a womanizer. As my dad and I got closer to him, I realized the nurse was a werewolf. I saw Martin as he brought out his phone from his pocket and quickly punched some buttons on the phone while the nurse was talking but I couldn't hear what she was saying. Martin smiled at the nurse and she smiled back before she turned around and started walking in the opposite direction. Just then, Martin turned in our direction and saw us. He started walking briskly to meet us.

The nurse yelled down the hall. “Get me the person in charge!” I demanded as I continued to destroy everything in my path. The nurse didn’t comply with my request and a few moments later, two security guards entered the room and attempted to subdue me. They were werewolves, so they were strong, but I was stronger. It took little to no effort to throw them to the ground. I would have torn their throats out of their neck, but the nurse was human. “Get me the person in charge!” I repeated my earlier statement, but this time the nurse used a walkie-talkie to request the dean of the hospital.

This is a disaster. I hear some screaming from the other room and immediately bolt in. My wolf takes over because the scream, was hers. "She's shifting Alpha!" Yells one of the nurses, I frown and push past her. Two doctors are holding her down but she’s writhing around and patches of fur are sticking out of her skin. "Help her!" I shout. "We can't, she's in a very fragile state." The nurse says. "I'm. Not. Asking." I growl. The nurses eyes widen and she immediately plunges a syringe into her arm.

"Tell the Alpha that she is awake." I shake my head, trying to understand. The closest pack to Lycan City is several hours away. Why would I be brought here? "I am sorry, but I still don't understand," I interrupt the nurse while she tries to sneak around me to take my vitals. "I am not a werewolf. Why was I taken to a pack hospital?"

While checking myself, I felt more alive than any time I ever did in my entire life. A nurse appeared in my view. She looked petite and afraid of being around me. She was not a human; I was able to feel that she is more, but she was a low ranking. She was a werewolf for sure, otherwise, she wouldn't be here. Matter of fact, she didn't seem powerful like the people working here, that is how I was sure that she is a low rank. “ Princess… You're awake!” Although she wanted to fake excitement, I was able to smell her fear, and its smell was attempting.

A team of nurses quickly gathered around, one with a stretcher. “Young Alpha, what happened?” One of the nurses said as I placed Izariah on the stretcher. I hated that they called me that, especially since they weren’t a part of my pack. They were just employed by my parents. Ignoring it this time, I explained what happened and told them that she was a werewolf but didn’t have access to her wolf.

Liam looks back at me with worried eyes, then fixes his face and walks over to me happily, placing the food in front of me. I stare at the food for a long time, everybody in the room just being silent watching me. I start to push the tray away from me so I can take a nap, when my door opens up. I look at the door, and a lady in her mid forties, maybe, werewolves age so slow I can’t really tell, comes in. Everybody in the room stares at her, clearly no ones knows why she’s here. She looks at my friends, “Hello everyone, I’m Dr. Kennedy. I’m here to talk to Amy, could you guys please leave?” She asks them kindly, looking at each of them individually. They all look wary to leave and just stare

"I'm sorry, but patient information-" "I'm family," I said flatly. She hesitated, eyes flicking to the screen. "I still can't disclose-" My tone dropped, turning sharp. "Which ward is she in?" The nurse stiffened. "I really can't-" Something inside me snapped. And my wolf Amira surged forward, heat crawling beneath my skin, my pulse roaring in my ears. Fear twisted into fury acting on its own impulse. Before I could stop myself, my hand closed around the front of her uniform and slammed her back against the counter.

Pain shot through my entire body as consciousness crept back in. Hospital bed. White sheets. The sterile smell of antiseptic filling my nostrils. My ribs ached with every breath, but the sharp agony from before had dulled to a manageable throb. Werewolf healing was already working, knitting broken bones back together. I tried to sit up. A nurse appeared beside the bed, her hands hovering like she wanted to push me back down but didn't dare touch me without permission.
