Suddenly the metal scalpel sounded on the floor and the man who nearly took my life was being suspended by a single hand wrapped around his throat. Grey was now sitting upright, legs unchanged from when I was nearly thrown against them, as the man garbled for a final say. Grey's eyes illuminated a heterochromia enhancement of cobalt before sharp nails from that same hand suddenly emerged and became the cause for the man's final breath. My eyes widened as I watched the lifeless body fall to the floor. But with what I'd already endured, it was more expected than what I had facing me now.

Squinting my eyes to get a clear view of the redhead's face, I froze when the face became clear. No. Freaking. Way. "Excuse me Doctor, who is that lady over there?" I asked, interrupting the conversation. "Oh, that's our new cardiologist, Doctor Giordana," he replied. Rob and I glanced at each other, then where she stood and back to the Doctor. "Is there a problem?" The doctor asked. "No, nothing, just carry on," I said. Some minutes later, we concluded the discussion and excused ourselves. "Did you see her or have I started hallucinating?" I asked Rob as we stepped out of the ward.

“I’ll be right outside, if you need me, just call my name and I’ll come running.” Everybody watched her in silence as she walked out of the office. The moment the door closed, I turned to Grey. “What’s this about?” “I am going to do everything possible to figure out what is wrong with her, but at the same time, you should do something too.” Picking up the pen on the table, Grey thought of a better way to explain this. “You know what you do for a living, and you know that almost all mortals are your enemy. The earlier you find who did this, the faster that person will tell us the solution.”

Grey's words played back in his head like a song stuck on a jukebox. "Athena's made it a lifelong practice not to have many close friends, but Shannon McRae is one of the few." The expression on Grey's face had been serious. "She assures me the woman doesn't spook without good reason and hates asking for help. I'm thinking it might even be worse than she's letting on. This is a special one, Owen, and there isn't another operative I'd ask to take this assignment."

I had to go see a gynecologist. My period was late again. I booked a specialist whose name sounded very feminine, Jessie Lloyd. Jessie seemed pretty popular. I was number 35. On the day of the appointment, I sat in the waiting area, scrolling my phone screen now and then, occasionally glancing up to check the queue. Then, I noticed something strange. Why did every woman coming out of the consultation room look so radiant, no matter her age? Jessie had to be insanely good. That was what I thought.

"What happened?" He raised his bloodshot eyes and angrily punched the wall, causing the wall to crack a big way. "I don't know either. I don't understand why the defensive class outside didn't receive any news or anomalies. They kept coming in like an empty place, then hit a blow that made it impossible for us to react in time. Everything in the center was severely damaged….” Gray's face crumpled in pain. “I shouldn't have run away; I had to stay there to fight them. I'm Alpha; why am I so weak?" I looked at him emotionlessly, only to find out that his left arm was full of blood, and I didn't know if it was my own or someone else's. When I looked at Gray's pale face, I assumed he was injured

The Greyman roared. The impossible speed Porcius hadn’t counted on earlier wouldn’t fool him twice. Greyman rushed at him, defending itself with hands low to strike. Porcius spun about as the fast explosion of movements, and used the force of the Greyman against itself. He quickly sliced with the huge sickle, low, clipping the lower portion of the beastman’s ankle. After only a step, Greyman became confused that he couldn’t run properly. His right leg wobbled, and not from the blood of his inner thigh wound. Something was wrong down by the ankle, something important to let a person stabilize.

Skylar A yawn left my lips as I lazily blinked my slightly glossy eyes. Watching Grey’s anatomy is never a bad idea, maybe it is seeing how they killed all of my favorite characters, okay not all but still. Why the hell did Derek die? Or George? I could never wrap my head around why the writer must kill one of the most important characters, to depress the watchers? Isn’t life depressing enough?

He keeps his distance as we walk down the hallway and get into the elevator. My mind is racing through options: wrong floor, wrong office, wrong building. The doctor’s dead; someone hid his body and cleaned out his office. Or someone, as Drew so eloquently put it, is fucking with me. I can see from the look on Gray’s face that he’s running the same catalog of possibilities in his mind. He’s holding my hand tightly, as if he thinks I’m going to make a run for it.
