I never heard my brothers talking about rent and such. “How am I supposed to call you? What is your name?” I changed the topic. I don’t want to cry while thinking about my parents. I don’t want my mind to wander around on the details my family didn’t tell me. “I don’t tell my name that easy, young woman. But the people in here, including my grandchildren and children, call me Nana. They said that I am the oldest woman in the town of Dusk and Dawn.”

“Elder Freya. The… The ‘Silent Elder’.” For a moment, the old man continued to blink at me in that owl-like manner—that was, until I mentioned her nickname. The Silent Elder. That was when he stepped out from behind the bookcase. “The Silent Elder,” he whispered, almost in reverence. “What sort of information do you require?”

If the lady really is as old as he claims, I don’t want to scare her. The door barely opens, and a feminine voice greets him. A couple of words later, she starts questioning him about who’s the guy we’re looking for. Apparently, there’s no Larry living here. Fucking great. “I met the man who lives here; maybe I don’t recall his name correctly or am confusing him with someone else. There is a man who lives here, right?” He keeps pressuring the issue with the old lady. “Yes, my grandson. But his name is Fenton, not Larry,” the old lady replies, and all of a sudden, all pieces of the puzzle fall right back in place.

The third nipple, a name obtained because the drummer had a third nipple, was beginning to be recognized for their covers. "Well, I'm glad you got sick with... Otitis?" “Yes. The doctor is an Oto…” Nick tried to pronounce. “Otolaryngologist” “Sure that. She asked, "Are you 99 years old?" The old lady nodded and said, "That's right. I'll be 100 years old in a couple of months." Lucy giggled. "You must've put out a lot of good into the world, lady. That's why you get to be 100 years old. Anyway, I'm here to deliver some fresh milk to you. You're so old, do you live alone?" The old lady shook her head. "My son and my daughter-in-law come here sometimes."

After all, he is the only person smiling at the moment as the old man and Rome are busy glaring at each other with a cold glare. “What is your name little girl,” The Old man asked still maintaining eye contact with Rome. “Ophelia”, she replied with a smile. He was about to ask her another question again when two ladies stumbled into the room with shopping bags. One was Celine and the other woman was older. Seems like she is Rome’s mother. Celine rushed towards the old man kneeling in front of him respectfully she handed over a pack of tea to him. The Old Man also praised Celine a lot for her new achievement of becoming the new director of “The Silver”.

I started laughing after her. Well, to my surprise – she launched herself over me while laughing. I didn't know what to do, besides I was too happy to ruin the moment - so, I ended up hugging her too. "So, Evanora … Is your name? I heard the old lady calling you that." As I mentioned to the old lady, the smile on the young girl in front of me faded away. "Yes, it is. My name is Evanora. My mother named me after her sister's name for some unknown reason. The old lady, my grandma - her name is Agatha."

“I miss the good ol’ days. When your mama used to drag all of you down here. The Calloways practically paid my rent.” My mouth tugs into a smile. “Happy to be of service.” “How’s your mama? Still hitched to that buffoon?” “You mean my dad?” He scoffs. “If that’s what you call him. I would’ve treated her better. Woman never gave me a shot.” “Yeah, I can’t imagine why.” Oldie — probably not even his real name — is somewhere in his seventies now. He never corrected us when we called him that as kids. He just wore the nickname like a crown.

She offered us some, which we declined. An elderly woman walked out of the house. She was very old. I did not need to guess her age. She was over a century, really, from the colour of her hair and the traces of wrinkles on her face, but time had been easy on her if that was the case because she was still agile and pretty. "Alpha, My Lady. My great grandmother, Leah." Choe said, and we greeted the woman. "You should still be in bed, Granny; they are here to see me," Chloe complained, and it was cute seeing the two of them.

"Oh." I respond with nothing but that. Jean did tell me how powerful this witch is gifted to be. But at the end of the day, a witch needs something in return to grant a curse or a wish. A boon, in neutral terms. "Her name is Olga. One of the oldest witches to have ever lived on the planet." Says Jacob, letting me curl like a kitten over his chest. "Is she understanding? Have you met her before?" Before answering me, a chuckle suddenly rumbles out of his chest.
