One Library Search Novels & Stories

And if you see cops coming —for the love of God— don’t run. What I need right now is access to a computer, and what better place to find one than at the public library. It takes me twice as long to find it because I have a hell of a time figuring out the street signs, but I thankfully know how to say “Bibliotheque?” to a random passerby who helpfully points me in the right direction. I keep my head down as I pass the librarians at the front counter, settling in by an unused public computer in the back corner of the library. Hopefully I won’t be disturbed here. I open a search tab, hands hovering over the keyboard and…

Whatever lurked in the shadows could wait—I wasn’t leaving without what I came for. Ignoring the gnawing tension in my gut, I moved deeper into the rows of towering shelves. The farther I walked, the more overwhelming the task became. So many books. Too many categories. It felt as though I was searching for a needle in a hay sack. Thirty minutes later, I was deep into the library. My breath hitched in my throat when I finally found the category for prophecies and premonitions. It was huge. Biting my lower lip, I crouched, starting from the bottom of the first shelf.

"Before Maya. You read everything she found." He doesn't deny it. No performance of confusion, no redirect, no attempt to reframe the question into something more manageable. He just looks at me in the low training lights and nods once, clean and deliberate, like a man who decided honesty was the only defensible position and arrived at that decision before he ever sat down in that library. "Yes," he says. "How long have you known where to look?" "A few days. The main library catalogue is accessible through the student database. If you know which classification errors to search for, the restricted collection's misfiled documents aren't hard to locate." He pauses. "But that's not what you're a

And did not want me to know. I carefully placed the fragment between pages of another book for safekeeping. Then I searched. The library had a record system. A log book where scholars were supposed to note which texts they accessed. It was an old rule. Barely enforced. But some people still followed protocols out of habit. I found the log buried under stacks of returned books near the librarian's desk. Flipped through pages. Most entries were routine. Council members researching trade law. Scholars reviewing historical treaties. Then I found it.

he gave me a small smile and I nodded in return. I left him sitting on the floor, at the encyclopedia corner. We both knew what our goal was, we were not going to stop until we completed it. I guess there was something in common between Beta and Iota after all, their drive. I headed toward the Literature corner, searching for books at the isle of fiction. Our library follows the Dewey Decimal System, so I headed towards CAN. There were four shelves of books dedicated to authors with the surname starting with CAN. I heard myself sigh; this was going to be such a long search.

"I'm sure there will be something I can find in the kingdom's archives. Allow me to thoroughly search first, and then we can start from there," "You think there's a case there that would aid us?" His expression changed, determination and a hint of inquisitiveness suddenly etched on his face. "Of course. The kingdom's library is the most sophisticated out there. And even if there's nothing I could find, there's the Eastern Kingdom who would gladly open their library for us," There is hope. "That's nice to hear," I replied. "—but I'm quite saddened that nothing came about. I was hoping I could garner something in return,"

My hands move the books away from each other to look for any opening but there is none. What should I do now? Where do I start in this huge ass library? I feel hopelessness crawling over my skin. I'm tired of this. After getting so much information from Alex, I don't want to focus on getting the book anymore. Will he seriously stop being friends with me? How will I deal with that? MoonGod! That boy has completely lost his senses to think something like this as the only way. It feels like I'm losing it. I'm losing Alex and I am losing hope on finding this secret library. I'm not even sure if I want to find it. Why do I have to do the job? Why did Professor Sheila give me the chit? Why? Why al

she began pushing her glasses back up her nose, “actually I didn’t even see him leave. I’m normally not that good with faces my dear but I could never forget that one, I know because he was –“ "Quite the catch, I know," I finished for her, looking around the library. On what coincidence could we be looking for the same book? Plus legion and Library? The only thing relative about those two was the letter L. He was clearly not the nerdy type. She nodded smartly before turning around, “if you excuse me,” I stepped aside as the librarian moved past me, calling a thank you after her, and then running a hand through my hair. How on earth was I going to find that book? I groaned moving down the ais

After their dinner, the couple went to Harry's library and discussed their current dilemma. The library has a few high walls of old volumes, though mostly, they were now a sort of decoration to set the scene. One simply logs in through one's device and either reads or listens to one of the thousands of titles, including political science, engineering, mathematics, research manuscripts, and scrolls. Giving him the tea, and sitting on the chair in front of him, she didn't stop to marvel at the grandeur of the library.

I quickly find the section I was looking for, the history section. Climbing the ladder, I went row by row searching for one particular word but couldn't find it, the library was huge then how come I can't find the exact book I was looking for? I skimmed through all the book in that row to no avail. It's was getting really frustrated and my strength with enthusiasm was weaning out, I turned to leave in anger when I mistakenly pushed down a book from it place, I quickly picked it up to place it back on the counter when I caught a glimpse of it name.
