Yama said, glancing in the captain’s direction, and without missing a beat, she pulled Venus forward.
“Hi!” Yama greeted the captain with an enthusiastic wave. The captain paused, pressed something on her headphones, then set down her drink, removing the headphones.
Venus clutched the paper bag tightly against her chest, her heart racing as the captain gave them a nod in greeting.
“Mind if we sit here?” Yama asked, noticing the captain was sitting alone.
The captain gestured for them to join her. “Pres, you go ahead and sit. I’ll go order our drinks,” Yama said, nodding to the captain before excusing herself.
