Beta Before An Alpha
I spat at him before I saw his eyes turn pitch-black.
A second later, his fists collide with my cheek, and I hear my cheekbone crack.
It hurt, sure, but the action itself made me blink in utter disbelief.
He punched me.
The man just fucking punched me.
“You don’t get to say that, human,” he snarled.
My wide eyes turned to him and suddenly all fear I might have harbored against their species, dissipated into the air.
I could feel it. It’s like a kettle blowing deep inside me, begging me to put it off its misery, screaming, gnawing at me to give it release.
