“He used the mind link to tell us what he could…We heard him tell you to run.” Onyx clears his throat, looking up for a moment as the sun shines through the trees, high in the sky, illuminating his face. His eyes appear lighter, his strong jawline more pronounced with his short beard that he hasn’t had the chance to shave down. He looks every bit a rugged model, and it makes my heart skip a beat. He turns to look at me, catching me staring at him and his gaze turns inquisitive. “How did she end up as Gamma?” I ask, clearing my throat and looking away shyly. If I stare any longer, I may cave before ever getting these answers.

Trent replied. His pack gave him a look that was laden with disappointment and Nick steeled himself. He had been selected to be the Alpha before he was even in his twenties and had spent a decade and half taking care of his pack. He had never disappointed them, and he would not start now. “Fine! I'll find the hunter and when I do, I'll kill him!” Nick announced. “You'll have to show us evidence.” Dani said. “Yes! I'll bring his corpse here!” Nick said.

Nick rapidly flipped and punched the speed bag. His brown hair, angled face, and bulky ripped, muscled chest were soaked in sweat. They found the fugitive with the ten thousand dollar bounty on his head. He was about to flee Phoenix for the Mexican border. He actually shot at them. Nick returned fire. He had clipped the fugitive in his arm. When he dropped the gun, Walker was on the fugitive like white on rice. They had collected the bounty and returned to town.

He needed to finish quickly and move on. Gods, what he wouldn't give for a gun or a knife. One of Liam's quick fixes would end this in seconds. "Clever." Nickel chuckled. "What the hell kind of auric power do you have? Not that it matters." He leaned on the wall and sharp metal pikes popped out, not only near Cook but endangering the retreating Bunny and, further down, Lexi and the no-furs. Nickel's smirk suggested he did it just to throw Cook off.

He's rather more annoyed than anyone present. “Cannon, what you did is wrong, whether you like it or not. Admit it, you're just obsessed with Clair and the reason you did what you did.” “What? Did you just say obsessed?” “What else do you call your actions, then?” “No, you got it wrong. I'm not just obsessed, I'm terribly obsessed and since you know that now, don't you think you should back off even more,” Cannon said, walking over to Rojas with his hands in his pockets.

The stadium was pretty much empty, a few people scattered here and there. I spotted Nick right away, sitting on the third row, hunched over something in his lap. He wore a gray hoodie that looked a size too big, like he could get lost in it, but somehow it made him look even broader. His dark jeans were faded just right, and he had those classic white sneakers that always looked better a little dirty. When he saw me, he stood up quick, that big goofy grin lighting up his face. "Roxy Bennett, you came," he said, like he honestly didn’t believe I would.

Jordan stands next to Dean, Olivia stands next to Issac, Gia stands next to Justin, and Sasha stands next to Cole. I’m actually getting pretty excited for this. I look up at Gunner again, “What’s your wolf’s name?” He smiles, “Hunter.” I laugh. “Gunner and Hunter?” He chuckles but nods. “You guys were literally made for each other.” I tell him and he nods his head agreeing, bending down to whisper in my ear. “Which is precisely why this will be over quickly. I give it fifteen minutes once the wolves start searching.”

*We can get our own damn kills, we will provide for our mate,* he said, puffing out his chest and trying to shut me up so he could listen for the critter. He was right and I knew it. I couldn’t bruise his ego. He was just jealous. We were good at getting big game, deer of course were our favorite. But Nate and his wolf Onyx could get anything. Huck sensed the rabbit’s heartbeat and just as he pounced toward it, Onyx surfaced with it in his mouth. Well shit. He quickly sat down and bit it in half, then used his nose to push some toward us. *It’s a gift from our … sort of mate,* I said, trying to be reasonable.

He tossed the pieces into the garbage bin, muttering to himself, "That's where both of you belong." He then turned his attention to a framed picture of himself and Sabina. He tore the picture in half, letting out a bitter laugh. "My biggest mistake is trusting you, Sabina. But thanks to you, I've learned my lessons now," he said, throwing the picture into the bin. Onel sank into the bathtub, trying to push his anger and resentment aside. He was the last surviving omega in the world, and many alphas desired him because only he could give them the perfect son to secure their packs. But he refused to be used like that anymore.

The plot was thinner than the plot on a p**n star, the female lead had the personality of a damp sock, and the male lead, Huo Yan, was such a ridiculously overpowered Alpha film god that you could practically smell the author's daddy issues through the screen. But the crown jewel of its awfulness was a minor character. A cannon fodder Omega who, by some cruel cosmic joke, shared my name: Zhan. This Zhan was a walking, talking cliché—a jealous, arrogant, talentless hack who existed solely to be humiliated by the ML in the first fifty chapters. His grand exit? Spilling a glass of champagne on Huo Yan at a gala and getting his entire career blacklisted into oblivion. I'd literally just finished
