My face is buried in his chest, and I let go again. We just stand in the hallway, him holding onto me and rubbing my back in soothing circles. As my tears dry up, I feel a little embarrassed.

"Hendrix has depression! If his condition worsens because of you, I swear I'll never forgive you!" Then, without missing a beat, her tone softened as she spoke into the phone, her voice laced with concern and affection, "Hendrix, calm down. Please don't do anything rash. I'm coming over right now."
