Lurking in the Dark - Book 2

Lurking in the Dark - Book 2

"Believe me, it will be." Maybe, maybe not, just the prospect of seeing her right now, made my tension rise again. Not just because of what they'd done, but because of what they stood for. A shattered childhood, an orphan, the Venator's profession. It was only because of these proles that I became a Venator.

Lyra's Point of View Thalia took another sip of tea then started to narrate what I told her the day before, to Xander who was curious about what she had read in the book. “You know.” She started. “I read somewhere that not many people know about werewolves. But Orin Darkhowl was a master at it. He knew many things about us, he even came up with several theories about our origin. And the Midnight Howl was the book that contained all his life's discoveries. I haven't read much though I only got the book yesterday after all. I am still in the first two chapters. But from what I read in chapter one, Orin Darkhowl was basically trying to educate his readers on the history of the moon. He spoke ab

Even Logan decided to make them a drink because he couldn't stand the drowsiness that assaulted him. “Thanks for the drink!” Alice looked at Logan who only the man nodded. They refocused on reading the books until "I got them!" Xander exclaimed when he finished reading the thick book with a blood-red cover. After Xander had finished the 2 thick books, his attention had been turned to the book with a blood-red cover with black and white wing crests in front of it. He had noticed that Alice and Logan had been ignoring the book all along. Even at first, the book was in the earliest order, but no one wanted to read it. He also wanted to ignore the book and wanted to have a book with a green cove

that the money lent by the orphanage was just enough to last for a month. Good thing that my orphanage had an educational program which helped me finish high school and this aided me to get a job easily at the inventory department of Lyla’s Café. I must admit that everything went smoothly, maybe I was truly lucky. However, I still wanted to have that space wherein I don't have to think about anything, but even though I do, I don't want to become an empty space which is who I am at the moment. My thoughts went to a halt when I heard a loud bang from a harshly closed door and when I traced as to where it came from I saw a young lady wearing a light, white cocktail dress with hair so soft as t

The Orphan and the Mythics

The Orphan and the Mythics

I was abandoned as a baby at a very small orphanage, in the small town of River Stop. I was raised in the orphanage, and I guess in this small area not a whole lot of people want to adopt an orphan girl. So, I grew up with the ladies that ran the orphanage, Frances, the old, short and very plump mean and strict head master I guess we can call her, and Mary, who was soft, sweet, caring, and was the only person in my life that ever loved me!

"Please, I want the book. One day I will understand." Brandt smiled and replied with humor, "If you ever make sense of it, let me know. You can then argue with my father on the merits of Christianity. He believes in the Goddess and loves nothing better than a good philosophical debate." He turned and picked up another book. It had a picture of a wolf with a snowy mountain background. "This is Jack London's Call of the Wild and it's the one we'll read first. Let's finish the cake and then get ready for our evening company."

Cela remains disappointed. "C'mon. It's not like they bought everything. They just thought of giving the books as Christmas presents apart from the corporate giveaways. You must know that your mother enjoyed your first book so much. Too bad that she passed before the second one is out," Nanny Rita continued. "You've always been loyal to her," Cela said.

Max's Revelation

Max's Revelation

If one’s parents die early, you become an orphan, if your parents abandon you emotionally, you are an orphan, if your parents are not present all the time, you are practically an orphan, so what is the difference of an actual orphan and these abandoned kids, nothing. The emotional scars and trauma are all the same. Their parents were not present when they most needed them. So what makes them bad people? Nothing, because nothing is wrong with them. They are regular people and should be considered as such. Orphans should be given the same chance as everyone else. Because, as Max and his siblings have proven, they have risen from the ashes and made something of themselves. They have their compa

This is intriguing, witty and I still enjoy the relationship among the siblings. there isn't a boring moment when they are together. Perhaps Max is the key to this chemistry or perhaps Clara, who knows? But I really enjoy the introduction of Celine. I can't wait for more chapters!

Thank you author for Max’s story. Was just as well written as Clara’s Mystery and I cannot wait to read Jeremy’s. Keep writing because I am a fan and hooked on your ability to tell the story that grabs your readers and has them thinking of the characters long after the last chapter!
